IF you got nothign from that, understand this, caprica has caused so much damage over the years, no way everyone can be compensated, it would aonly be those who he hit recently, which isnt' fair to anyone else hes destroyed. Send resources to jtest. THis poll is bias because 90% of the people voting will want hteir resources back so weather its fair or not they will vote for the compensation route.

Re: Destruction vs Compensation - The Caprican resources
Eh compensation is bad idea. A pretty bad one actually. Look at all the people Caprica has massed in his time in sgw, if you didn't read, 5?? something accounts destroyed to date. IT says so on his planets. I mean sure, send every person 50 k UU, if you can track them down. I mean I lost about 4 mil armysize fighting with caprica, so in a way caprica caused those losses, do i get my UU back? (if so then i'm all for this idea
) IF he had as many accounts as you gusy say he did, then he would have had them when in the DDE, so are you going to reimberse everyone the DDE massed when at war? Its just not logical to try and do so, to get a fair amount of who has lost more.

Well, Admin will not be the one giving compensation... A player who got stuff from Caprica prior him knowing he was a cheat is willing to give away all stuff he benefitted from obtaining these resources from proven multi and cheater.
In my opinion it's very graceful gesture as he could as well keep the resources for himself, right? And yet he wants to get rid of them due to way they were gained.
So why not to use these resources to help rebuilding those who were massed by a cheat?
This community needs BIG whip on cheaters and this as well might be good start.

destroy the uu by sending them to jtest
you dont deserve the dirty uu and no one does so get rid of them and hope the stench leaves your account with them

Re: Destruction vs Compensation - The Caprican resources
Thanks for your responses thus far. In reply to Spartan, I am aware of the impossibility of compensating everyone who was every damaged by Caprica. Indeed the only people I would be able to compensate at all would be the ones who were involved in the war against Caprica in these recent days.
I can fully understand the point of everyone against the compensation idea, including that in the past people never got compensated for being massed in wars against cheaters, so the concept is basically "why start now" ?
One thing to note in this specific case is this:
I was most definitely NOT the only person who knew of Caprica and his (currently alleged) cheating. In fact after I became aware of it, he openly told literally dozens of people about how he cheats. Some of them were bigger and definitely more influential than myself. Yet not ONE of them reported Caprica, was willing to go to war against Caprica, not even willing to stand up against Caprica... And when confronted with this idea that no-one who knew about it was willing to do anything about it, I started asking myself why?
Was everyone else scared of reporting him? Scared for their stats? Reputations? Alliance/Officers? I mean, no honest player should HAVE to be scared of a cheater... Or did they not honestly care that someone was cheating? All cheaters should be punished, end of story. (Technically I didn't cheat, but as DB said, I'm trying to remove the stench of a cheat from my account). Currently the game admin Mark is AWOL, and hasn't responded to countless reportings of Multi's in the cheater section of the forum.
Myself and some of my good friends organized some things to help bring Caprica down... I also made some good new friends out of all this. All thats left now is a Game Admin to finish the job...
My point in all this is, the main reason that people didn't report Caprica previously would have to be a combination of the people who "don't care about people cheating" and "were too scared to do anything about it". So what is wrong with offering incentives to people if they stand up to cheaters? Just something to think about....
Oh and someone mentioned that only the people who post here asking for compensation will get anything... Not true. As I said above, I will only be compensating people who fought in the wars against Caprica in the last few days (especially the little ones, who took mild losses but due to their incomes it would take them weeks to recover). I know who 99% of those people are already.
Just some food for thought. I'll try to make the final decision within 24 hours...

Re: Destruction vs Compensation - The Caprican resources
Well I'll throw my 2 cents in since you asked.
First, do what you will with the resources, if admin doesnt like it he will change it.
As for so many people doing nothing, Let me tell you a story, One from along time ago. There was a group of people who did this, they did it constantly, they watched, they monitored, they recorded. They single handedly found and pursicuted more cheat/ multi accounts then anyone in the game. They became the bad guys for it. They reported cheat after cheat after cheat, and if they weren't totally ignored then the cheat was let off with a slap on the wristand they were left to repair their accounts with no compinsation . This happened many times over. And you wonder why no one cares?
As for Bryan, remember that? He took on one of the biggest cheats the game ever saw and guess what he got for it? Well if you really wanna know, look it up. Its all still there in forums, but I'll tell you this, it wasnt worth it, at least not to me anyway.
Personally, I think your doing a good thing, the right thing. Unfortunately you will one day learn what many of us have already. There is nothing "Fair" about this game. Admin and Mark are limited on what they "can" do, or more what they are "willing" to do.
My suggestion is compensate some with 1/2 of the resources and randomly send the other half to 50 to 100 active accounts as a gift. Either way and no matter what you decide. Cleanse yourself of this and move on.

Re: Destruction vs Compensation - The Caprican resources
Didn't Bryan get suspended/temporarily banned for massing some huge cheat (and in the process raiding some of the UU of said cheat)? Thats all I can remember of that situation off the top of my head... As for my goals as per identifying cheats, etc... I'm not trying to do what Omega did/does, I'm just trying to do the right thing (in my perspective). Which is report cheats where I find them, although I don't think I'll be doing it this way too often lol.
Lore:
As for the suggestion of using half the resources to compensate people and the other half to send to random accounts... The amount of resources I'll be sending isn't enough to fully compensate everyone who deserves it, and arguably why give people something for doing nothing when others who fought miss out? Thanks for the suggestion and opinion though, much appreciated.

As I said, just cleanse yourself of the resources and be done. You seem to favor compensation so do it. The faster you put this behind you the better.

send them to admin. it really isn't fair and its by far the safest and right thing to do rules wise.
everyone who has been mass'ed recently will band between each other to rebuild and repair happily while laughing over the kid that wanted to act tough and mass everything in some game.

Send to admin.
Thats the best way to cleanse, it takes the dirty uu out of the game, by leaving it with other ppl ur only leaving the dirty uu in the game.

Re: Destruction vs Compensation - The Caprican resources
Seems like theres more support for sending the resources to admin than there is for compensation... And its easy to see that many people who were massed by Caprica will complain if they don't get what they consider "enough" compensation.... So I guess it is easier to just say I'm going to remove them from the game
