...wow, I forgot SGW had a forum...

Anyway, thanks for the comments! SGB 6 should be out by October 27th. We chose that date because it was one of our member's birthdays... or something.

Re: Stargate Computer Game!

I have a mac and I downloaded one of the games, but I could not get it to run. It looks pretty cool for someone who is interested in arcade games.

This thread will not die, most surerly not from my hand.

Now, about this new game of yours. Take all the time you need, just wondering if there's any new info on the progress.

Click the image to download SGB 6-The gatebuilders. In my opinion it's one of the more cinematic of the series.

Also, I will try to update this topic more regularly, so check back a couple times a week (To everyone who's interested).

Re: Stargate Computer Game!

We did enjoy the game very much. You've finally hit the nail on the saving progress. Liked all the ancient and ancienty ships. Looked really cool, sometimes it gave me the run for my money. Quite challenging sometimes. But after a playy or two, you get it.

I must say, very fine work indead. I don't mind it being cinematic, it brings life into a game.

Re: Stargate Computer Game!

Thanks!

And an extra note, The remake of the original game has been canceled.
Since there is no longer a 'first game' the game, the numbers of each game will be 'dragged down' by one. Also, we are re-looking all of the previous games to expressly fix all errors with the gameplay, and the saving.

The FINAL (and we really mean it this time) installment in the series, entitled 'Stargate Battles Six: To The End', is scheduled to be released around february... but don't quote me on that.

Prior to its release, I'll also post the 'fixed up' versions of the other games.
This is the full Chronology:

Stargate Battles: The Beta System
Stargate Battles II: The Gamma Project
Stargate Battles III: Full Circle
Stargate Battles IV: Disk of Vermin
Stargate Battles V: The Gatebuilders
Stargate Battles VI: To The End

Re: Stargate Computer Game!

And now, to keep this topic alive, i am announcing a promotional event for the last installment in the series. Every couple of days, i will post some of the new (and spectacular) graphics that will be used in the game. Each Sprite-Reveal will feature a 'new' ship, and a sprite of a ship that has been featured before.

This is the Re-done sprite, the 308:

This is the new ship, a Koer'kesh threader:

A dedicated short-range fighter, threaders are called such by humans because the exits the must leave through in the hangars they are stored in are small holes. When one of these needle-like ships fly through these holes with their wings closed, is similar to thread going through a needle. While effective against 302's and 309's, these fighters are clearly out-classed by 308's and certainly 401's.

Re: Stargate Computer Game!

   401's???!!!

I wonder who the new enemy is??? *hint, hint*

One "other than the new release" question. I didn't finish one game, due to the, for me, "faulty" save mode (meaning I had to re-play too much and never got to it, being blown to pieces every time). Where did the wonder-child get infected with Chilae? I know where they used the Omega beam, but where did she get it into her blood stream. Now I remember, it was the game IV, I'm a right?

Great job and I'd be very sad to see this pearl of pixel/SG gaming go away without one BIG bang.

Re: Stargate Computer Game!

Jessica? It is learned she is infected in SGB V. The saving will be changed to the old place-system, and not a level-select.

My friend at gateworld posted a demo, so:

"Well, enough work has been done that I am obligated to release a demo. The controls are the same, and you have the same 3 weapons as you had the previous few games: Spectral Guns, Dread Missiles, and the Point Defense Beam, but several technical changes have been made. I'll leave it to you all to notice them ;)

And if Mega Upload doesn't work for you:
Image

The demos display Koer'kesh ships, and the ships of the 'other' enemy in the game. Also... after the Koer'kesh demo is finished, it will continue. Press ESC to close it."

Will try the demo in a moment. I can say that I'm not overly happy with your decision to change the save system. It will make my life harder. I believe it add game time, as you may chose to replay a particular level you really like, with the old way, you have to start all over again. Which is bad!

Game review:
WOW!!! Even better than before.
Graphics: You'we outdone yourselfs guys. Now everything looks as real a possible. The explosions, shields, smoke trails, everything.
Gameplay: Smart AI, my ally can finally do something else than just fly around and use spectrals. You've finally got the beam weapon right, the ship has to stop in order to fire. I believe it's more realistic.

This will be one hell of any ending.

Might I be so bold and ask what do you intend to do after you've done it? Could we see more playable races (like the Aggard, Ancients,...)?

Anyhow, great work guys!

Re: Stargate Computer Game!

Well, the system of saving that I'm talking about is the one where, if you die, It loads the mission that you died at.

And thanks for the comments! I myself didn't write the story, but it's a hell of an ending, if I do say so myself! When we're done, we plan on starting a new series based off of the characters we've already made.

Ok... basically that is still SGB, but... We won't be calling it that, and the Chillae story will be over.

Re: Stargate Computer Game!

Anyway, I just wanted to say, that we're looking for voice actors for the game! The voice snippets we want are just short in-game statements (equal to the things in Halo, like "You know our motto! We DELIVIER!"). We want voices for Jessica, Cassandra, Noah, President Kane, and a new villain named Ky.

If you are interested, send me a PM, telling me which character you'd like to audition for! Obviously this is for both genders. So... you're interested, just PM me.
