that depends on how serious that was. if it was work/job/business-related it would be obvious.

1. No
2. Yes,, Every day at my job, as that has been my job at the last 5 jobs I've had, I have been a "team leader", "Group leader", "Lead man", "Assistant supervisor", and "Supervisor". I'm also a mod here and admin on another set of forums
3. Yes, as stated in answer #2 my job requires me to interprit both tangable facts and the temperment of the workers I interact with. The difference between work and here is at work there are actual conciqences and here dicipline is a joke.
Again,,Why?

modding on other forums doesn't count as it's not "serious enough" imo.
that's the kind of thing i was thinking about.Lore wrote:2. Yes,, Every day at my job, I have been a "team leader", "Group leader", "Lead man", "Assistant supervisor", and "Supervisor".

out of curiosity... was thinkin why the general sections seems to be soooo unfriendly, full of ppl whining and arguing between themselves ans/or the mods/admins and generally crap that i don't want to be involved in all this and thats my thoughts:
1) theres forum rules. ppl responsible for setting them and enforcing them should have some legal background if we want to avoid any major disputes about their meaning and interpretation. also they should be unbiased judges and so on.
ya don't need to be a lawyer, 1 year studying it at uni will do (i had 2 yrs)
2) as this is supposed to be a "community" forum admins and mods should act as community leaders. as in other cases, poor leaders - poor team.
3) this is kinda connected with 2) but here the point is the ability to efficiently deal with all disputes, disagreements and troublemakers. there's a lot more better methods than punch in the face and "cos i am mod and a god" attitude. good diplomacy works much better.
i'm not sure if skills gained in the military are relevant here. army is more "goal/mission" oriented while community - "interest/hobby". but wolf, if i ever need a project manager, i'll give ya a shout

Re: QUESTIONS TO THE MODS (AND ADMINS)
Now that you described legal background I studied law in the uni for 2 years. But Industrial and business law mainly. And basic law... everyday stuff.
Oh and as a security and safety engineer Im a professional in work, fire and security. So I know well all the law stuff for these things. Not to mention civil defence, disaster recovery and some military stuff I learned at uni. That all has some law built in. Well most of them are defined by laws only...
So maybe that... but I thought you asked if any of us is a lawyer.
To answer the big question, yes the rules are under reorganization in the background. We want new and better ones.
As for team work... I use to work with teams and never had issues with them. Actually I use to be a good member of the team. (as the other members use to tell me.)
