No, people only accuse you of abusing a loophole if you do so, e.g. when the supersoldiers were first introduced in quantum some people found that they could gain naq by training up loads of troops as Asgard/Tauri then switch race and untrain them, getting refund of the value they cost that race and not the one they were trained in. They did this repeatedly to gain large amounts of naq.

But thay are not abusubg the system with regards to ascention!
if you want this then why not just stop all forms of ppt and ss across the board?
Are they not doing the same?
You see..... leave it as it is.
Just work a bit more on the game - you can see people are slowing down the more they reascend.

Well then why are people so surprised that no sooner do some people ascend than they're back in the top 100 again? The idea behind it most people feel was to clear out what was a stagnant top 100, keep the game's rankings more fluidic and varying, with people able to reascend so easily the open game aspect of the top 100 will soon fade and it will be back to how it was. As it is there are players who've ascended 3 times already, so that's a 15% boost to all stats, which should make it significantly easier to get in the top 100 than a 25% boost to one. If PPT and SS were removed how would Forum pay to run the game?
I see no reason to prevent PPT (as long as it's not 24-7 throughout the month), SS just needs to be rethought for those who have ascended. I see no reason to prevent them from sending to others but the ability to receive naq/units seems to need tweaking if reascention is going to mean anything other than "Yeah I just stashed the majority of my account in a new dud account and then quickly transferred it back after ascending again".

But, Ascending a fourth, and even fifth time will really cripple anyone's resources. The rewards for such power will eventually be vast, but in the mean time a fifth Ascension should be more than enough to keep someone down. You could probably keep them down too if you got together an alliance to manage their progress.

I used to have the same concerns about mass re-Ascension as you (up until late last night in fact), but on deeper reflection (taking Motherships, ever increasing costs to re-Ascend all across the board and the eventual depletion of a massive amount of troops and Naq into account) all is going to be fine. Forum is a lot smarter than I think many of us have given him credit for with the re-Ascending issue.

It isn't a dud account they willl be sending to either it would be an officer!

Since standard dial-up doesn't have a static IP you can use a dud account for this either without it showing up as such.

Nah, I've never even bought PPT in main, never mind anything else. I'm currently just getting together the G&R I need to ascend.

That explains it all! why not get someone to get you ss by trading some UU or naq.
It has all become quite clear now.. (chuckles)

Check my standings on QW, I've spent over $200 since the start of the wave (said I was going to go all out this wave), money is not a big concern for me but I want to be able to say that I made my first ascention without buying my way there.
You'll find a number of posts throughout the forums about how I was playing the last wave of QW intentionally with no SS/USS/PPT, no commander, officers or affiliation with any alliance. I like knowing that my achievements in the game are due to me, not my credit card.
