Kevin Rudd all the way.
Finally, an intellegent PM.
By the way, show a little more respect for your new PM as of tomorrow.
Perhaps self mod your self up there.

Apparently not. It's probably for the best

The Forces of Light... Robe, The Novels Main Protagonist, The Polar opposite of EtL... Or is she?
Are they that different? There battles have encompassed entire careers and lives within the game, the most bitter and epic of enemies, neither will leave while the other stands... the ultimate climax, will it ever come?
Who knows. One things for sure, the Freedom Fighter is in it for the long haul, its in her head now,
and she must save the world or die trying.

Now that is scary...

Firstly, the IR laws...
Back in 2005 I was one of the peaceful protesters marching to stop the introduction of AWA's(Australian Workplace Agreements).
No violence whatsoever, just approx 60,000 people marching through the streets of Melbourne displaying their banners and flags stating their concern for the future, and with good cause.
I have spoken to people who are very Pro-Howard who don't fully understand the repercussions of the AWA's introduction into the workplace.
When once you were payed a fair award wage for your hard work:
$18.5 per hour for weekdays,
$22.5 per hour for Saturdays
$25 per hour on a Sundays
Approx $45 an hour for Public Holidays.
Your employer now has the power to make you sign an AWA which states that you will now be payed a flat rate of just $18, $16 or even $12, whatever they want, even on weekends and public holidays.
Brilliant for businesses and Employers, but in the end, the workers suffer, we get paid less when we are worth more.
I know this is a fact as I have experienced it when I applied for a job a few months back and found out that that is how it worked. I have seen this happen in many places over the last 6 months, and its a joke.
The Liberals make out that the employee has a say in what they will be payed, but I assure you, most employee's will tell you what you will be payed, and you know how it is, we are all expandable...
Kevin Rudd will abolish these AWA laws, and give back the award wages we all entitled to.
Others I will state in dot points:
*Federal Labor will revolutionize Australia’s internet infrastructure by creating a new National Broadband Network. This includes connection speeds up to 40 times faster than current speeds. (huge selling point for me)
*The boost to education and hospitals
*The interest he has taken in global warming(as opposed to John Howard's 'I don't care' attitude).
*The plan to ease water shortages across Australia with a $1 billion investment in water recycling, desalination and major storm water capture projects.
*The plan to keep a permanent watch on petrol prices by appointing a new Petrol Commissioner and give the ACCC the power to monitor grocery prices and to publish regular surveys of prices to inform consumers. (As you know, we are currently paying double taxes on our petrol...for no reason)
*Labor will inject $600 million to dramatically slash waiting lists for elective surgery in Australia's public hospitals.
*Implement a phased withdrawal of our troops from Iraq.
*The man is fluent Mandarin! Have you ever tried to read a Chinese paper before? He can... And he is as Australian as they come. Very smart man.
