Friends enable you quick access to members you communicate with frequently. If the template has relevant support any posts made by a friend may be highlighted.
While I have seen many people praise the 'Add foe' feature (haven't tried it myself because I don't believe in ignoring problems to make them go away, but that is irrelevant to this topic), I have tried the 'Add friend' feature myself but it doesn't seem to make any bit of difference.
Just curious, anyone else using it? Does it work for you? If so, what forum skin/style are you using?
