Do lifers help?

Do lifers give you a bigger bank space or income then miners?

As far as I know, no. The only difference is you can't untrain them - correction, you can also use them in suicide missions against AC.

They do give you a nice income though right after you ascend, they're very good for that. You don't have to retrain them all.
