On that note.. there's even more support for the mods than I expected..

That's a bummer for the counterparty..
Ero`sore, an honest question.. please, if this poll again goes against your obvious wishes, please don't go talking about the minority having more merit, okay?
If this one ends in favour of the mods, let's just leave it at that.. okay?

I voted very good they take quite alot of time to do their jobs and from where I stand they do them well. When they may be biased towards a thread they don't mode it like squishy with the FAHQKD vs BWP thread.

Re: Community Opinion the Job the Moderators are doing.
*chews* Does eros have sour grapes? ANYONE with ANY amount if intelligence knows this wonderful poll and topic are because of one reason and one reason alone. lol. *points to the top of the general section.*
Lol..WHEN the mods are allowed to actually do their job, they do it to about an average standard. A lot of them should not be mods, but even the worst and those who should not be, do the job to that standard. The fact of the matter is, the good mods cannot do their job properly because if they do, they either get massed, or they get a nice little gem of a topic like this trying to nail their arses to the wall. I think a lot of the people in the community forget that this issue is a two way thing as well. It all rose from the ashes when the mods were getting rewarded for doing a job, the community didnt like it, so pushed the admin very hard, and basically got away with it, with a nice little apologetic smurk from admin. Bang...out of the window go's credibility, forum atmosphere, and respect. The moderators powers are near enough broken for good, and now everyone sits around in the peanut gallery twidling their thumbs pinching themselves hoping its all a big old farce created by jason in league with jeremy beadle. Neither side of the gallery willing to admit any form of major fault, but one side unrelenting in their resolve for a goal, i bet 99% have no idea about.
Yes the problem we have before us is...the community dont know what they want, or if they do, they sure as hell know the meaning of chaotic communication. Cos personally 'responsible, good mods' dosent quite cut it for a list of, yes i will say, demands in moderator character calibre. THEN..the mods are a complete and utter mess. Some have powers here there and everywhere. There is generally little orgonisation, or not apparent at least, no race mods, generally you have no idea who to throw a stick at other then the global mods, who I only generally see buck around these here parts, with spacey humming in the undergrowth sticking his very busy head up now and then.
So returning to the point of the thread, the jobs the moderators are doing. Id say its average as far, emphasis on this bit.. as you can see, and to most out there, as far as you will allow.

Seeing as I consider "average" and "some good, some bad" as equivalent (both seem to be C's on an A-F scale), I feel they get the very good (would have voted good if it was available. Oh well.)

Even with those that have posted here your poll isn't doing what it wants is it eros?
Lets look into why you wade this poll.
You were removed as {insert fancy word here}.
You made mistakes, you don't think so, so you made it all public, in the hope that the community would sway your way? i mean, 'we' did once, so why not again? Sadly we are not all a bunch of mindless pigs.
Then when this failed you began an attack on the moderators, hitting on a more wide subject, praying on humanity's flaws, that we will make a big fuss when something is even slightly wrong. and yet when things are done right, say nothing. And yet once again, the poll is not falling in your favor. Maybe people really do think that the mods are doing a good job, but more than likely its that they are seeing through this poll and seeing it as a way to attack the mods.
The mods may not be doing a brilliant job, but you wouldn't do any better. You made that much clear in the 24 hours you had any kind of power.

Re: Community Opinion the Job the Moderators are doing.
Despite the fact that the poll is seriously rigged so as to make us look bad we are still far ahead. Eros, dude, you really need to move on from this.
The poll is rigged because:
* He loaded the responses in a way that makes it very hard for us to come out ahead. There's only one response people can give that thinks we're doing a good job but if someone thinks it's a good job but not perfect they have to take the 'average' choice.
* He's discounting 20 votes from the people saying we're good because we voted for us but not discounting the votes he's gone and made people vote for (anyone think he got 40ish votes for ombudsman by sitting quietly while people freely voted? he knows how to drum up votes)
* He's loaded the poll question by including a few things he thinks are bad, out of context and with nothing to support the other side.
If you can't win by doing that eros it's time to give up.

I don't think you can make an accurate generalization of this nature. On the whole I'd say the forum staff do a very good job. That doesn't mean to say there aren't one or two DaDigiesque mods trolling around.. but there's a lot more of the good stuff than the bad.

Anyways the official tally right now is:
Doing a very good job. [ 4 ]
Doing an average job. [ 8 ]
Not a good job but not a bad job. [ 9 ]
Doing a below average job. [ 1 ]
Doing a bad job. [ 6 ]
Anything but very good is bad. If it's average they are not doing good enough, if its good/bad then thats not just good, if its below average its bad, and if its a bad job they immediatly need to be replaced.

Like i said on the first page, since there are 20 mods, I am assuming they are all going to vote themselves very good, and this isnt a a poll for the moderators so the first 20 aren't counting.
