I for long time used to almost equal strike and defence when I had 210/200bil att/def I saw difference between ranks of each (attack was ranked around rank 170 and defence ranked 900-950). So it's been long time people prefered defence over strike.

I dont understand it neither but I'm playing it because (and only for that) it's like q wave 10 and how main was like 2 years ago, in other words no AC no planets no MS no perg no ascension...but supers are in fortunately!

A game which is called stargatewars should have in my opinion more people centered on offensive tools than defensive ones. Biggest strikes should normally be higher than defenses, as we are in a war game, and the goal is to destroy others to survive and reach rank 1 until someone stronger takes it from you. So as defensive going up to protect accounts, strikes should go higher to go thru them.
But apparently this game doesn't work as it once did, long time ago, true sense of wars, not farm fests and defense stat building from noobs putting from half to three quarter of their non mercenaries army into defense troops and big accounts only raiding to grow their army and forgetting to do how wars were, not train all in miners and mass all in beginning of war then farm others and sit to wait enemy to surrender by boredom.
