if it does the goddamn europeans would be on their bums trying to stop it because they know chinas gonna nuke everyone.

about the rice fields, thats kind of racised not everyone plants rice in china, considering military the chinese soldiers are like brainwashed they can probably do with out food for a couple of days and wouldnt revolt against the government, china would probably win on the ground.

Air and sea are a different matter, us has the satelights and all the other crap that makes them superior, i suppose the us would invade china but shipping all those soldiers through the pacific would be kind of long and dangerous because china does not need to use nukes, cruise missles would do fine. Also bombing rail, factorys,etc wouldnt be so easy chinas got a airforce too even if its not "amazing" as the us they still have tracking and other crap, they could easily shoot down a bomber plane, AA guns would also do the job due to chinas huge ground forces. Russia would probably help china because if the USA DOES WIN(unlikely to win a total victory) russians are gonna think theyre gonna get invaded.

so overall i think it would be a stalmate

you're right it wouldn't break out... i doubt there would ever be a reason good enough to start a war with china. good point about russia too, never thought of that.
i still say that our stealth bombers wouldn't have a real problem hitting their industry, but we also have our own long distance non-nukes that we would probably use as well.. i think our biggest problem is that we couldn't treat it like world war 2... if wee started bombing cities and whatnot liike back then, well,, there would definately be a lot of controversy to say the least. i doubt we would invade them... i mean hell, we were hesitant about invading japan, so we nuked them. imagine how an invasion of mainland china would end up.

Well the only way for the US to win a war against China is for them not to care about civilian casualties, which is something the US can't do. Winning wars throughout history wasn't about occupation, it was about annihilation. period. So a war on this magnitude wouldn't work today.

If it did happen today, why stop there? I mean if we're all going to die from a nuclear winter, we might as well all go out guns blazing. Have each half of the world form an alliance and beat eachother senseless. Fun right? It's better than waiting for global warming to come and kill all of us.

Back to the real debate, infantry would always have an advantage in their home country. They know the terrain and can more easily have their troops arrive and be in position. It all boils down to air power and naval power to soften up the enemy. This of course the US could do much better than China. This would then leave a sizeable ground army to defeat which would be difficult and have great damage to both sides.

Then you could add nukes and make this all a moot point.

Now another interesting question would be a country like Russia who, although their navy is pretty small (in comparison to the US) other than having alot of subs, their air force is a bit more comparable to ours. Plus noone actually succeeds in invading Russia...ever, unless you're the Mongols.

I hadn't thought of Russia before, but considering they are no longer communist (and there was a lot of tension between the two countries even when both were communist) and that I haven't heard of anything in eastern Siberia besides resources, I doubt Russia would be able to come up with a concievable excuse to attack unless a US commander was silly enough to cross into Russia.

I really don't see why nukes keep being brought up. I highly doubt that the United States would resort to nuclear weapons, and nukes have not been used against military objectives since Japan. Sure, the world may have a serious oversupply, but anyone foolish enough to use them will immediately become the strapping boy of the global community, if not first demolished.

+ that i wouldn't be surprised if the North Koreans helped China, their communists and (i believe) they have a very strong relationship, and the Japanese joined in to help USA as theres not a lot of love between Japan and China

i thought of another way us might attach china, and that is to either occupy taiwan or get some agreement with japan so they can move the marines there and then start the invasion, north+south korea would help china due to the fact that us has invaded north korea before about Russia, they dont need a reason to help china theyll send troops anyway because they will think they are going to get invaded.PERIOD. it would be like world war 3.

dont think anyones gonna use nuks though the peace keepers and UN will probably set the declaration so that neither countries can use nuks. other than that they will be like have fun and kick each others A**Es.

I really doubt "all those that hate us" would jump in.

If they did, it would be Russia, some of the middle east (Iran, Syria, All the others are US allies for the most part: Saudi, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Dubai, Qatar, and Israel) and some poor countries in Africa whose primary military force is warlords.

Not much there versus almost all of Europe under NATO, Australia, Japan, Canada, South Korea, and probably some of South America, most likely Mexico and a few others.

US and its allies win, china and its nothing loses.

As if a piece of paper, or the breath of anyone could keep either country from lobbing nukes at each, it would stop the U.S. only temporarily till China threw theirs. Then we'd be like feck you U.N. and start lobbing our own.


You are right about one thing, and that's that it would start WWIII.


It would at first be China vs the U.S., then someone would jump in the fight for whatever reason, then it'd just snow ball from there, causing WWIII.




Think about it, if a country was actually dumb enough to launch an attack against the U.S. or the U.S. against another country, all those that hate us, would jump in. Then our allies would jump in, and it'd become one huge furball.

I don't think fashionable is the right word for it, and I think you need to distinguish between "America" (the country and people), and a country's foreign policy.

I don't think anyone hate the US people. I think there are serious concerns about national and international policies that the country has.

I can imagine someone saying 'well that their/our policy not yours. So how you feel doesn't matter'. It is that opinion that I think many non-US people have problems with with some US citizens views. If someone does feel that way, then consider how involved the US is in other countries, and think about how fair it would be for others to stay out of the US'.

sorry i shouldve made it clearer. Over here in Australia there is a trend amongst the new fashioned kind of people who trust a naturapath (cant spell ) over a doctor. the kind that beleive medicine is an evil tool. the trend to 'hate America' in general. i beleive it may stem from americas foreign relations well at least a view on the current wars etc.
