If you have not ascended, but have huge well armed armies and thousands of nukes and shields on your ship, and 10 planets, is it ever possible to beet someone who has ascended? (Or ascended more times than you)

define "beat"

if u mean in attacking and defending them of course u can. being unascended it just means u need more uu and naq to train more soldiers and buy more weapons. on the plus side, your weapons are cheaper but also weaker (about half the strength and 1/3 the cost) tho u need about double the amount of trained troops for the same stats.

you need more troops and more weapons to match an ascended player which means you take more losses

i recommend you ascend otherwise you will have a tough life

In the long run unascended accounts can not, and will not ever be able to compete with ascended accounts. Even tho Admin says ascention is not forced, you will never actively compete.

You will come out far better to quick ascend and vacate ascended. Just getting the weapons is worth it. 1/2 bonuses would just be a plus.
