Questions about ascended server
What does Energy Channeling do exactly? What I understand is that it will increase your max. But is it a permanent increase?

no :-p
While at full energy, you can very slowly assimilate more - effectively although temporarily increasing your maximum energy levels. This measures the speed of that capacity (it is much slower than using Energy Flow to recover).

It permanantly increases how much life force you get per turn after reaching max life force. What it doesn't do is permanantly increase you max life force.

In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry, and is generally considered to have been a bad move.

Once you reach the maximum NATURAL life force, you continue accumulating life force, but at a much slower race. This rate is defined by both your channeling skill and your natural life force maximum.

No problem, although I must point out that everyone else is more likely to be correct since I only ascended 4 days ago. If what they say differs from what I say, trust them more.

when ur life force is below ur max, the increase per turn is worked out by ur max lvl and ur lvl of energy flow. Once u reach ur maximum life force, the increase drops and is worked out by ur lvl of channelling.
If u go to Introspection, under "realm" and above "powerup" the table of results in the the top left well help explain it.

No - I think everyone is right, they're just saying different things in different ways.
Energy Channeling is the rate you get life force points after you have hit your life force max (Maximum Natural Energy Capacity). Increasing this power-up gives you a better modifier (although not much more than 1-2% per level) for this stat.
In this way, channeling gets you above your max life force points, although once they are spent, you recover your life force up to the old maximum life force. After which, you get more life force at your Energy Channeling rate.
If you want to increase your max life force points (for the quicker 'Flow' rate of recovery), then you need to work on the Maximum Natural Energy Capacity power-up.

hope this helps

Channeling: the slower rate at which you accumulate life force after having reached the natural limit.
It stays there, for days, if not forever, but it accumulates much more slowly.
About updating it not changing it much: upping the channeling skill level will increase your channeling rate by a certain percentage. This percentage is sometimes too small to notice. Example: 39*1.01=39.39. I believe that the values that we see are rounded, though every turn it will add 39.39 (example). However, your channeling and energy flow rate both go up when you upgrade your natural life force maximum.
Channeling skill is thus defined this way: (BS+NS)(100%+CS) where BS is the basic rate, NS is the additive to the rate defiend by the natural maximum life force level and CS is the percentage added by the channeling skill level.

Not directly. They help you get mroe powerful, and subsequently you can upgrade physical stats more easily.
