And I still don't see the relevance of your weapons argument - no matter how you try and dress it up. That is a silly argument for the sake of it, whereas I have stated over why I believe this shouldn't be implemented:

I believe I have said:

1. It doesn't actually add anything to the game.
2. It isn't needed (wanted, yes - needed, no).
3. The information can already be gained through other methods (asking/spying).
4. Officers may not want their commanders to see their planets - for reasons already mentioned (unscrupulous commanders etc).
5. You don't need to be able to see an officer's palnets to be able to advise them on the best ones to have or how much defence is needed on them.
6. Yes, Forum does have more imporant things to do - and IS doing them.

So, there's your 3 reasons, and I've raised you 3.

On top of that - using your argument of commander/officer being on opposite sides of the world against you.... How would a commander having immediate access to an officers planets be of benefit? Yes, the commander might be able to see everything immediately - but to what end? How can the fact that the commander can see the planets immediately be of any benefit?

yes it can be of benefit

for example things like attacks on officer and i like to tell them whether or not its worth it to get the planet back or leave it and take a better one

i'd rather have immediate access to that and then pm my officer so he can have all the information he needs when he logs on

but the way it works currently is i have to ask for info then wait for officer to log on and give it then he has to wait until i log back on to see it then i have to wait until he logs back on to see it

ill answer your points in the morning

yes it can be of benefit

again I ask, how?

for example things like attacks on officer and i like to tell them whether or not its worth it to get the planet back or leave it and take a better one

but if it's already gone, how do you see it? and like I said before - you don't need to be able to see planets in order to tell them which are the best ones to have.

i'd rather have immediate access to that and then pm my officer so he can have all the information he needs when he logs on

what information regarding planets is so important that you need immediate access to it, but the person whose planet it is doesn't need your view of the information for hours (or even days) later?

but the way it works currently is i have to ask for info then wait for officer to log on and give it then he has to wait until i log back on to see it then i have to wait until he logs back on to see it

you could spy for the info - if it is that important to you. Or, if the officer wants your opinion that badly, he/she would give you the info without you asking. Or if you are that insistent that you have your officer's planet info, then it is made a condition of them being your officer - then, if they don't send it within a given timescale, you boot them. That would be a real test of commander/officer loyalty (or how eager the commander/officer wants a UP/naq boost!).

ill answer your points in the morning

I look forward to it - although I've already responded to the other points you made (above in yellow).

Re: CO seeing officer's planets.

i mean the specific planet

sure i could say get all up planets but it wouldn't be of the biggest benefit right now

and if that specific planet is worth taking back or get a new one maybe a different type

Re: CO seeing officer's planets.

I know what you meant - but, if that specific planet has already been stolen, then you won't be able to see it, because it will belong to somebody else other than your officer.

The only way you will know what it was is if a) your officer tells you after it's stolen or b) you have a copy of his/her planet stats prior to it being stolen - and that can be achieved by the officer sending you them, or keeping a copy in their personal log.

The argument that you can tell them whether it is worth trying to get the planet back or not AFTER it is stolen is flawed, because they will surely know what type of planet has gone missing, and will also surely know that it's defences are gone (or are being rebuilt by the new owner). So I don't really see how being able to see an officers planets can help advise them on whether they should get back a stolen planet......??

well defenses been rebuild wouldn't be an issue

and not only the type of planet but the size and strength

Re: CO seeing officer's planets.

I know that defences being rebuilt are not an issue - I believe that is what I was getting at!

Again, you don't need to know the size and strength of a planet (and by strength I'm assuming you mean the specific stat?) in order to tell someone what is good or bad about it - or if it is worth getting back if stolen. Besides, I'm willing to bet that the majority of active players would be able to tell you what type, size and strength of planet had been stolen from memory.

And my point still stands - unless you personally keep a record of all your officers planets, then it doesn't make a slight bit of difference, because once it is stolen, you won't be able to see any of their stats.

And if you ARE going to keep a personal record of your officer's planets - what is the point? Surely you can advise them, as their commander, to do that themselves (and send you a copy if you really want it)? Then, if a planet is stolen, they don't need to remember and can give you the exact stats.

Re: CO seeing officer's planets.

I'm for this because this way we can see officers' planets and help them get it back if its stolen for example. when player isn't here, and if player doesn't think of writing planet ids while he beaconed them but renamed them, he won't have any way to know which beacon belongs to which planet and will be screwed. It should show planets ids and stats.
That way the disloyal officers will be screwed

I too agree with this. It can really help COs help officers get their account into shape.

Re: CO seeing officer's planets.

LMAO - again, I have to ask why it is a good idea - and why it is needed? I can understand why it is wanted - because people are lazy! I cannot understand why it is needed!

I thought I'd put this one to bed months ago with my previous arguments on why it is a suggestion that adds nothing to the game but convenience, and I believe I countered all other arguments....? :-D
