War on Scammers

Many of you will be aware that there has been a gradual increase in the number of scams and cheaters recently. This could be many people carrying out scams or it could be just a few people carrying out several scams, but the fact is that there has been a noticeable amount recently.

Admin unfortunately do not classify scams as cheating in this game and therefore little or no action is ever taken against these people/accounts that carry out the scams.

If things continue like this then it will end up getting to the point where every other account is a scammer because there are so many of them.

Several members (myself and Klacey included) of the SGW community have gotten together to form a team to combat these scammers. We all feel the same way about them and feel that action must be taken and the time to do it is now due to the noticeable increase.

What we propose is that in addition to victims of scams posting threads on this forum for Admin to look in to, we would like for those people to also send us (at least one of us) specific details of what happened, i.e. what scam took place, who the person/account was that scammed you, and most important of all….. evidence. Evidence can consist of chat logs, screendumps, anything that will assist in proving that a scam took place.

The Team will then study this evidence and see whether there is satisfactory evidence to prove that a scam took place and who the scammer was. The decision to take any further action will not be made lightly, that is why we need sufficient evidence.

The reasons why we are setting this team up is because there are too many people being scammed these days, I myself have been scammed, friends I know have been scammed and friends of friends have been scammed. We don’t want to sit back and see this happen just because it is not deemed cheating.

There are several people taking part in this already, we have yet to come up with a name for the team, but we are ready now to start this and pay those scammers a visit.

I think this has been tried before on cheaters...

But anyway, I'll gladly help out with any massings/sitting on accounts that are proved scammers....I don't have the time atm to be on any kind of council looking into individual cases cos of RL commitments, but just give me a bell with who you guys have decided are proven scammers, and I'll gladly help with the massings

There is a plan for a forum, but we wanted to see what kind of response we get, and who is able to offer help. So far so good it would seem.
