possible scam control

OK Mass scamming is most definitely becoming a problem. I'd like to attempt to address it. Scamming comes into play when you do business with unknown or not well known players who take advantage or your trust or need for something. Now If everyone would only trade with well known reputable players or do background checks on people they trade with many scammers would be stopped. To this measure I have an Idea I'd like to put forth.

I propose the creation of a committe for well know established player who have a good name and reputation in the community. These players can be selected in many different fashions and can be rotated, voted in or out, or anything.

What they will do is this. They will be the middleman or overseer of $$ market deals or ingame deals of very large amounts. These deals can not be rush or immediate deals, but deals that are well thought out.

How it works. I'll use myself as an example. Player A wants to sale his account for 100$. Player B wants to buy the account. Neither is well know or has anyone to back them. I take the transaction over. The account info is given to me by player A. The $$ is sent to me by player B. When I have possesion of both then I send the $$ to player A and the log in info to player B.

Now this is where the strength of well known respectable players come in. These players must be trustworthy, and I even suggest getting admin in on this for 2 reasons. 1 is so if one of the "trade overseers" goes awol then admin can fix it. 2 I hope he will allow them to log into the traded accounts for 2 reasons. 1 to make sure the resources and stats are what was agreed upon and 2 to change the log in info so the old owner doesnt get the $$ and then steal the account back quickly.

but there is a little problem ... for excample paypal takes a fee on transfers(at least it toke from me) when person sends money.
if person A sends money to you and you send it to person B, person B would lose nice amount of money
same goes for uu transfers ingame, not so much but still there would be some losses.

Well I like the idea of a committe to oversee the market section and try and stop scammers early but truthfully its a lot of work. Not many would take that up lightly I my self do over 50k turns a week if possible and was and will soon be back over 100k. Its not for cash and such but still others do things alot more often than me so itd be a very hectic job. Secondly your asking for alot of trust now instead of trusting 1 person your trusting 2 and not everyone knows some of the more famous people that would be elected. Good in theory and definatly would be interested in seeing how it pans out in practice.

Yes the "Fees" will have to be taken into account.

I really feel like this is better suited to $$ trades only.

I look at it like this, are you willing to lose an extrta3% of cost, and trust a 2 or 3 yr old well known respected player.

Or risk getting scammed by a real tool?

Someone like myself,*Just using me as an example*, has alot to loose. Ingame, with alotta resources tied up in my account. Inforum, being a global Mod and long standing member. In self respect, because a high profile thing like this, if i jumped ship and scammed someone, id loose all respect of the public. Other then maybe STI's account I just dont think its worth it LOL

oh, and i aint talking about an immediate service, prolly talkin 2 to 3 days trade time expected, but 100% no worries of scamming, is it worth it?

i'm not a great promotor of cash trades but getting scammed in a virtual game for real money is just crap so this idea is very good.
i think it's memorable there are those willing to bargain their own account/respect for making sure the cash trades are safer.
(of course i can only question the importance one's account/forum respect is worth, it's different for everyone i imagine)

that would avoid paypal fees....
Marshall is risking nothing if I don't pay.... and I have the assurance of you already having the uu......

same system would work with accounts....

I thought I about my idea more... and there is a flaw...
We need some proof that I sent the money and that Marshall received it... otherwise.. he could just say that he did not receive it even though he did...or I could say I sent it even though I did not.. and we would be back at square one.... and the position of the middle man is useless
