How does the absorption (defence) stat play into descention?

the other protions i can understand, the % of damage and stuff, but the total defensive capacity is listed as a small number xx.yy? how hould i read this? a percent?

The way I understand it it is a percent, first going through repulsion (say 10%) then the defensive capacity (say 25%) then constitution (say 90%). So starts at 100, goes to 60, then 67.5, then 60.75 is the percentage of their attack that you will take. I think thats how it works.
