Ascension accounts for sale - retribution

AS can be seen here, some people are trying to sell their ascended accounts (sometimes newly ascended).

Personally this gets my goat and I would wholeheartedly support any effort to make sure that any ascended account that is 'owned' by someone who hasn't worked to get here never amounts to anything and descends as soon as it is possible.

How does everyone else feel about this?

I full heartedly agree, I mean we have worked our behinds off (well most of us) to get up here and they believe they have the right to stay among those who work if they buy an account. Sorry but they do not deserve the right to stay among us on the ascended server, I am fully with you compmage.

I think we should work to descend the account before it can even be sold, thus denying this weasel his income. Of course that requires us to be able to descend accounts:

i kind of agree with you guys but out of all of the ascended right now, how many had ss before they ascended (not counting sleipner)? How many transferred troops and used ppt to get spy levels and etc? How many out of all of those would be up there right now without ss or ppt once? So you see, in many ways, we have bought our way to the top as well, this persons just taking a shortcut heh.

what u forget is most people dont donate .. they pay other in game currency to donate for them .. this can be called "stratagy" .. someone selling their account like this .. isn't nothing ...

right i guess, but heres another thought - look at it in deseds situation, he doesnt want to play anymore, wants to get out of this game, shouldnt he be allowed to sell his account if he wants? and what about everyone selling uu in the supporters main section? uu is pretty much the only thing you need to have a strong account, and people are buying hundreds of thousands of uu for $$, and ascended people are often the ones selling them... once again, i dont see that much of a difference between this and that - and jbgn, i most certainly didnt say all, i didnt kno about your specific case (or most people's specifics) which is why i posted it as a question, but i think its safe to say that most (at least 75%) did...

I can quite comfortably say that without trading to get turns I wouldn't have ascended yet...nor be in a position to re-ascend soon.

I think people shouldn't be able to make money off this game at all....trade things ingame sure, thats what ss was for, but making profit of an online game shouldn't happen at all....even if you're leaving the game. Just my opinion.

I think if people arent allowed to sell accounts on the Ascended server people shouldnt be allowed to buy PPT once they reascend.

Regardless of whoever had SS or not, I believe those who don't fully apply themselves to their ascension should have a price to pay. And I think most of you know I only discuss prices as in-game resources, not $$$.

well, i didnt use ppt or ss to ascend. I guess im paying for it now in my main with my low rank. But at least i know i earned all by myself. The guy selling his account is an idiot. The guy buying would be an even bigger one.

Why? Selling you account for $ doesn't benefit the game in anyway, while paying for PPT (or trading in-game goods to another who pays for you) benefits everyone in the Forum has more money to keep this game going. The two are not nearly the same.

well if someone simply decided to stop playing.. for whatever reason, it would be a shame to see all that time, hard work, and strategy go to waste.


also that gives me an idea. some kind of honors page in the rankings somewhere, of all those who played very well during their time, but have ceased to play. like where you would retire their name or something
