rules for newbies

For newcomers to ask questions to the other users... this section will usually answer most questions... requesting resources (naq/UUs/ATs) is not to be done here...

rules for newbies

Hi. Can someone add this information into the faqs for newbies.

When you are looking at your army, then in a non war situation you are not allowed more then 5-7% of covert agents per army size, otherwise the covert agents will die a horrid death.

Also, if you have more defence then 10bil def = 1bil naq (pro rata for an 8 hour income) then your defenders will die an horrible death as well.
I have seen this with my own eyes, and so those new players starting out on there sgw journeys, do not make the mistake of doing this.

Thanks
p.s If this is incorrect then please comment so we can get newbies up to speed :D

Re: rules for newbies

I think alot of more powerful people in this game forget where they started, ive had a few people that are new, ask how should they set there account up, i have also came across a few accounts where i have PM'd the person suggesting the way they have there account set up will lead to be being destroyed.

If i was a new player now and i "setup" my account wrong and someone big just came along and smashed it because they didn't think it was right, i wouldn't be back to continue playing, ultimately that will destroy this game.

Maybe we should start helping the "new" "newb" "noob" whichever way you want to describe it, that way we might have an even bigger player base than we do.
Deep within Noob Cave, you find a strange pool filled with a glowing blue liquid. You think back to what your mother told you about unfamiliar liquids found in caves.

You're pretty sure she said "Drink it! What's the worst that can happen?"

Re: rules for newbies

Usually rude words got you massed in the past.. and planet stealing..

Now with so many planets, that usually is not such an issue..

1. Be polite - even when you mass someone, no reason to comment about their sister, mother, brother or aunt

2. Watch what u say on the forums. Better yet, wait 6 month before posting anything on the forums. Too much bickering.

3. Regarding army breakdown, % here and there.. others have already given good advice..

4. Rank means nothing.. if you are scared of rank, go find someone ranked in the four to five thousand rankings (they are in raiding mode) and see how fast they can mass you = and then go back raiding the next turn.

Last small bit of advise.. be careful getting hooked so much that you begin to buy resources with $$ - yes, it is good for some, but be careful -- scamming is out there -- that is a section of the FORUMS you have to read before you get a deal that is too good..

Cheers,

Re: rules for newbies

Hitting people in war will often get you massed. Some people don't agree with massing vultures, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

Many people get their kicks out of massing accounts with big defenses and lots of spies with a small army size (because it's fun). So don't build defense with 1 million supers with a 2 million army size, or 1 million spies with a 2 million army size. Build some miners instead.

Asking people to stop farming nicely often gets you what you want. Threatening them with massings, friends, etc gets you massed.

Crying on the forums about a massing causes you to get sat on generally, so suck it up and rebuild like everyone else does. If you are fighting back it's okay to make a thread, but if you are just whining about it you are in a world of hurt.

Hitting people who are much stronger than you often gets you massed.

Sending annoying PMs often gets you massed.

Being rude on the forums often gets you massed. Friendly banter or roleplay is fine, but you need to know when to draw the line.

Re: rules for newbies

agreed... like theres a few idiots with 2+tril defense on less than 20mil army sizes... note: they will be massed.

but yeah.. dont be rude. dont attack alliances on the first page. get a good commander.. and you should be good.

Re: rules for newbies

Draw away from a player account breaking resourses though smote be massed.
*fires off remaining three 3 rounds of hkvp70*

walks to apc and says to soldier "the names Bond, James Bond."

*pulls out the shoulder rocket launcher and blows the following apc away*
*big noisy fireball followed by the sound of approaching helicopters*
