I long for a good post by Severian to restore TLE's reputation once more. :)
At least 'tis clear why you need a propagand^D^D^D^D^D^D^D^D^D--story writer. He's got his work cut out for him..

Re: Dude wth?

People really have no sense of humor around here, do they?

:smt011

Then again, sometimes there are lines that shouldn't be crossed. But, that depends on Xeen's own sense of humor, I suppose.

Propaganda? I only ever work with what I am given and so the things i bring forward are true. The most effective propaganda afterall are those which are completely truthful. You cannot rebute the truth, you can't be exposed as a liar for saying the truth and it won't come back to bite your rear end in the near future. You bring forward facts that the opponent tries to hide via ommission and so truth is used to ensure said other side doesn't try and manipulate the situation to create an untruth which they present to the community as a truth. I merely show the heads to their tails and the community can see which argument is stronger and make an informed decision. Same coin, I just present the other side.

Given the context you are implying, it can be argued that absolutely anyone's opinion on this board that is posted in an argument or debate can be taken as a sort of propaganda. Posting their veiws and their (i use the term lightly) 'facts' to promote their vision and cast a shadow on the oppositions. Would you rather me silent and blinding yourself to but 1 of 2 views on a situation and throw your credability and trust with only a single subjective argument to go by?

Although its interesting to compare people's opinions here to their opinions in other similiar situations, especially ones which have just come up and finally settled down. The term 'selective' comes to mind and the conflicting nature of their stance syphons any power their moral argument might have added to their posts...

Now in regards to the picture, I like Xeen and found him a pleasure to talk to, enjoy his posts and also found him a pleasure to war against and so don't agree with what people are implying here. Just like I haven't agreed to what people have implied elsewhere.

Re: Dude wth?

I was thinking, and I think many thought too, of what Jack said, in second part of his post, more or less.
It can be meant funny, but on internets, we NEVER know who can view this topic and HOW this person will react. Be really careful with such things. Not everyone takes it as a joke or leave it as it is, few could react otherwise, and we never know what they can do <_<

Thanks Sev. :)
As I was saying.. I don't call THIS [particular thread] propaganda, rather a distasteful display of disregard for decorum etcetera, as specified earlier. You seem to agree with that, seeing how you focus your reply on [misconceptions related to] my post. Essentially what I did by [not so subtly] calling you a propagandist - please note that I have the utmost respect for propagandists, and that where they are necessary, they are invaluable to me as well - was paying you a compliment, whilst insinuating TLE really needs someone to restore their reputation each time threads [and more generally, individual posts] like this [- that is the main post in this thread and several accompanying posts -] crop up. :)
In essence, what I said was "TLE may be brutes, but if Severian comes and illuminates this thread, at least their rep doesn't suffer".
Of course, all this works only from the rather presumptuous premise TLE actually cares. ;) Which was proven they don't. No offence there..

Good post, Severian.. again. Thanks!
And continuity has never been the strength of any given community. One day there is mutual agreement, the other [day] everyone is opposed. ;)
