Something a bit like a Galactic Colleseum maybe?

Simular but I was thinking in the game itself. Since my first claimed "your a vulture" happened cause I didnt use the forums and wasnt aware of alliance wars, I was only 4 months into the game.

Re: "Alliance in war" indicator

yea like on WoW the news and updates they have before you login. Perhaps we could just have a tab or something of the latest developments throughout the universe. Just click it and theres a big list of all the alliance wars that have been declared.

Re: "Alliance in war" indicator

I dont see why admins should be aware on who goes to war and who doesnt just because most of your are too lazy , or dont read the forums cause are not aware of how important it is, or like in my case cause dont give a f*** about who and why are at war!
Still alliance leaders could do that, like part of their work is, they should let their troops who are at war so they do not farm them, or at least send them a message to check the damn coloseum thing!
And i still thing that vulture is not a real deal, it is just a bunch of whining babies , thats all.
I didnt ask them to go on war, they come and farm me and its ok, i go strike back and I AM THE VULTURE ... hell NO... still it is how game is just because a bunch of crying babies likes to hit but not to be hitted!
Weird they do go on war with this kind of likes or dislikes!

Re: "Alliance in war" indicator

do you shoot down every idea? lol, sorry im not implying anything I just haven't seen you make any agreements.

People shouldn't be forced to go to the forums to view contents on the game, all the information or game mechanics needed should be provided inside the game and its menus.

Re: "Alliance in war" indicator

I don't like this idea because it kinda takes away the idea of effort to gather information through the forums.

-I'll regurgitate the notion that the 'vulture' concept is pretty backwards minded, personally I'd rather somebody not involved with the conflict get my naq just me...

If your extremely worried about possibly offending somebody then the Galactic Colosseum will easily prevent 'vulturing' because I guarantee you everybody warring will have a thread up to boast and frolic about their great military escapades.

Re: "Alliance in war" indicator

i think they just are a bunch of babies crying cause they went on war and someone who didnt know about it attacked just for his naq, it really is not personal, just part of the game... but its just me who thinks that....

equally though - it is no great hardship to go to the forum and see who is at war. As I've stated, and provided examples of, elsewhere, not all game mechanics/issues can be provided in-game, and even if they could, they shouldn't necessarily be - BERSERKER got it spot on when he said about information gathering - information regarding the game and game politics is available in a number of places and via a number of methods - everything can not, and should not be provided in game as the more that is lessens any challenge that may be left (no matter how small).

For me, I think of the Forum as a kind of newspaper or news channel anyway - I can login and play the game in blissful ignorance of game events, much like I could do in life - or I could take the time to visit the forum and find out what's going on, much like I could take the time to buy a newspaper or switch on the TV to the News channels.

The other flip side of it is - what if alliances do not want anybody to know they are at war? The current method, by posting in the GC, means that if they want the war kept quiet (granted, on both sides), then they can - but the suggestion of advertising it in-game takes away that right from the alliances to keep their war 'secret'. The argument might be then that alliances can choose to switch the indicator off in-game - but then that kind of defeats the whole point of the suggestion, doesn't it?

Still on the fence on this one though - as the good points aren't all that strong, and are easily matched by the bad points.

Re: "Alliance in war" indicator

like the turn on/off ads button, make yet another button to turn on/off a line of text under the where the ad would be or the sgw pictures that scrolls across the screen of every alliance that has been set to war by some alliance.... LOL

not that i really care either way, i dont farm naq too much at the moment

Re: "Alliance in war" indicator

either way you look at it someone still has to do the research. having it made a part of the game as a headliner or similar effect means admins ( or someone else ) time is taken up and leaves them less time for other duties.
some of these wars only last a day or so :(

naming planets doesn't work i see "AT WAR" names on planets that have been there for quite some time.- thats just a way to keep ppl from farming you as often.

i think it is upto alliences as a whole to find out who is waring and let their members know. but i agree that if someone at war farms outside then the outsider should be able to strike back with out being called a vulture. its just an excuse to mass someone you wouldnt normally mass.
