No no mate, no time stamps, it just updates the log, nothing else, if you spy the first time and u get ??? and the 2nd time u get the stat it just updates the first log with the stat. so the ??? are just replaced,

Forget all that timestamp info.

I like this idea and it has been brought up before, I was told then that the problem was this,,

a spies b gets ??? on 2 stats.

1 hr later a spies b again and gets both stats that were ??? previously.

Problem is b changed stats in the 1 hr between spies, and the second attempt drew 3 ??? but because of the previous report you get the old information which is incorrect.

Yes, there will be a problem with players upgrading between your recons.

Maybe this is a fix:

The pre spied data should be updated too. If you have older logs, don't trust them. Recon anew and everything you already had the pleasure of knowing before hand will be updated in the new log, replacing the log with an updated version.

Another suggestion to the idea (text display/formatting):

Information from most recent covert mission: Bold/White
Information <24 hours old: Italic/White
Information <10 days old: Red

Or something to that effect.

Either way, it's a good idea. (Would make wading through intelligence logs so much easier).

but whats about spying someone once each 23h ?
will the stats finded since more than 24h removed ? it begin to be hard to code i think...
to keep constant update on planets of someone, u just will have to spy him once each 23h30...

The idea is that the latest information would overwrite the outdated information into the 'combined spy log.'

You can already keep a constant update on someones planets (for example, writing into your log/notepad). This would just combine the information already available in your intelligence logs (from the past 10 days) into one log for easier access.

Now, if you are doing this update style, I would also suggest the following:

Starts that are discovered/confirmed with the latest spy attempt are bolded/highlighted.

all others are normal text.

this way you know you are relying on possibly outdated intel, but it at least gives you a general area.

And if you just used spy 10 times in a row, not much time for the data to change anyway.

That one's the simplest of all. You really have to have an indicator to separate latest intel from past. Boldfaced, italicized or highlighted fonts is the best and simplest idea of all. less work for coding too.

lol... i did 12 coverts on one account and still have no idea because of separate logs.
