ya youre right, we should have waited till we massed them, destroyed more than that in a single mass, than tell them a lower price for a ticket.

Tickets have their logic, many may not like them... but they are usefull.
And they would have been used in COP/CIA war too, if i was in charge back than. As they didnt, we had ppl joining dune, rebuilding and coming back to war.. Anyway..

STI, well said. A little one sided, but that's exactly what you promised when using this title "The view over the fence".
Severian, well said too.. together, those two posts actually make some good sense. :P

Nice.

The idea was to get people to think of what they saw from both sides of the fence

re:Severian 's post

just goes to show what paranoia does, seen it happen before, where was that, :-k

oh yeah Omega, #-o

yep we ending up attacking our best friends because we saw stuff that wasn't there :(

Re: The view over the fence

At what point does image/tag building/creating transcend into abuse heh? What is this abuse then, doing things for the glory, fame & establishment of the (then new) tag through thick and thin (or packing off to dune till the dust settles - couldn`t help myself lol, forget this last part)?
Eggs and chickens & omlettes, you know the proverbs. ;)

So it`s not really blahh the one abusing the TLE tag, it`s more like TLE tag "using" blahh when you come to it... :P

Btw, with all this talk of abuse, random massings etc. etc., where is the resident "it`s stargateWARS" brigade?
They won`t be posting in this thread? You don`t... say... lol.

But yes, I aim to please but having left the game and not been on alliance forums/communication mediums for some weeks/month(s)?, means I'm quite behind on the political state of the community (no doubt still a volitile minefield) and no longer keep up with things (and hence used the word hypothetical instead of fact and as a person not a member of the Legion Empire). I don't pretend to know everything, but I can put forth a series of events and let other people come to their own conclusions or be inspired to delve further and see their own series of events.

However heresay trickles down occasionaly in conversations and I irregularly check up on main forums and so getting people to question and focusing outside of the box presented to them (showing context) is always a good thing.

People are sometimes too trusting and willing to take things at face value. Jumping on trains without realising the destination has already been predetermined and planned out for them and what they're given is generally aimed at producing a desired reaction. So questioning the aim and agenda and who has to gain the most out of a post is important.

Likewise, at other times there's a lot of double talk and avoiding certain things or topics by speaking the complete opposite which requires someone to finally just come out and just be frank about it.

As for me, I just like the challenge and mental exercise of being the Devil's Advocate by going against the grain and showing people a flip side of a coin so they can make an independant and informed decision instead of just accepting the one and only view presented.

There's just no fun in a boring one sided world (SycophantWars?)!

playing with words again........TLE wouldnt be as strong as it ts if it wasnt for those so called "tickets"
Am I to blame you are incapable of thinking of a way how to grow without using your ticket system?NO.......

And to answer Jeff`s question.....

Well yes initially TL was formed to bring down the big bad omega etc but in the unlikely event it turned out that in a sort of way with few differences they became what they were fighting against....

Svarun once told me that TL are here to keep an eye on omega to keep a close eye on them so they behave.....
And how they are checking till this very day?

They established an NaP with them to prevent attacks from both sides so they would have them off the hook in a sort of a way and omega in return wouldnt get farmed so both sides won in the end....

fuall are still doing what the CoP used to do before TLE came, technically it`s the very same
1.massing people for no reason
2.tributes
3.abusement
etc

As svarun once said:
"instead of of one axe you have two axes and it`s just a matter of a decision which side both axes join"

It was something like that

But...the day when these two axes will have to decide which side to join, they will continue to chop down trees around further(massing the little guys for no reason, actually doing what omega did before TL arrival)

I think that in the end one axe is less harmless than two...
but that`s just me

I don`t play anymore so it`s not like I care but to be fairly honest, after CoP disbaned TO was the only alliance and still is till this very day that has not been corrupted by it`s power
*claps hands and puts the hat down*

Re: The view over the fence

Just been reading Thomas Aquinas:

Thus Job says of the tyrant, “the sound of terror is always in his ears and even when there is peace (that is, no one is trying to harm him) he always suspects plots.”

And throw in another Aquinas quote:

If the tyranny is not extreme, it is better to tolerate a mild tyranny for a time rather than to take action against it that may bring on many dangers that are worse than the tyranny itself.
For it may be that those who revolt against the tyrant cannot prevail, and the tyrant then is provoked to become more extreme. If the opposition to the tyrant does prevail, the result is that there are deep divisions in the populace, and the community is divided into rival groups either during the revolt or regarding the structure of the government after the tyrant has been overthrown.
Again it sometimes happens that after someone has aided the community to overthrow the tyrant, and out of fear that he may share the fate of his predecessor imposes a worse slavery upon the subjects. It often happens with tyrannies that a subsequent tyrant is worse than his predecessor because he abandons none of the oppressive measures of his predecessor but with intensified malice invents new ones.

I think jeff has been reading a fair bit of St Thomas Aquinas recently :P

Personally, TLE are no better or worse than FUALL - both have "educators", both have tag-abusers, and both have some very good players - a balance has been reached in the game between these two empires - I would be very interested to see what would happen should a third arise from somewhere....:-D

When you find a strong union, its normally a sign that management have been heavy handed...

Cause and Effect...

All alliances have their strengths and weaknesses.
Its just a pity that we need empires at all...

Are they that different? There battles have encompassed entire careers and lives within the game, the most bitter and epic of enemies, neither will leave while the other stands... the ultimate climax, will it ever come?
Who knows. One things for sure, the Freedom Fighter is in it for the long haul, its in her head now,
and she must save the world or die trying.

Re: The view over the fence

jeff, first of all, thank you for noticing TA :-D

but, you are forgetting something, omega, or to be more precise, they're new alliances, like pi and delta, continue to do what you are accusing tle to do

just look at gc, and you'll find a pi team massing an alliance with the reason "We are bored" :?

delta does it too, their policy is, we mass who hit us, but truely is, "We can farm whoever we want, but if you hit back, its war" doesnt look that different from the times of cop :?

now lets look at your own alliance, dde, the same bs, you farm who you want, but 1 hit back on you guys, ofc, not everyone is like that, i know plenty there that can fight their own wars, i fought them b4, but many, many are just hiding in that tag :P

now about tle, well somethings i dont agree with them, and i already told them, mainly the educators thing (and while some educators are what i consider my friends) i told them b4 many times i dont agree with what they do, but lets not forget, not just TLE members are educators, many are Omega too ;)

about when tle asked reparations for ppl to leave the war, lol, most alliances do that, and it started when omega (or more exactly GA) asked Crystal Force to disband, and asked us, TA, to give 10bill naq (a decent amount at the time) to each leader of each alliance in GA (and there were a lot of them too lol )

so maybe is good to look to both sides of the fence :-D

dont do what your neighbours do, raise above them :-D

 & yeah once you get that freakin tune un your head, will it go away :smt120

as for the above i can put the same turns as you could say take or point towards,

so in the end which is the correct path, what has the poster got to gain, what agenda have they, have they got some to gain, is there an agenda, & on & on & on

This is what i meant by paranoia, you have already started down the road

but now you have to ask which road is the right road to go on Toon_PDT_03 :-k

Ah, but you missed the point i never said that any of the others were not doing this, just that everywhere i was reading TLE were being mentioned, thats why i pointed out in the lead thread about the i hate Omega threads, as an example.

all it did was remind my of times gone past & how we go incircles, now it seems i/we (who ever they are) are planning to take out the TLE, dam i am good

very good post indeed nox 8)

there is always a thread where TLE and OE are accusing each others of things they do themselves

I do believe all of this can be specified by a single wisdom:
"The one pointing fingers has usually most butter on his hands"

@jeff
don`t take me wrong but both empires have their flaws never the less

you are superiors so it`s more than natural that both wanna look like the good guys infront of their crowd 8)
