AFK players auto account deletion

recently i have noticeed that this game is getting alot of players whom dont actually play it, maybe for whatever reason they have registered and didnt like it or whatever

so would it be possible to delete like accounts after 20days of inactivity (with the exception of vacation mode).

there are many pros and cons to this i think the main to are:

pro: it will stop players farming people who dont actually play the game.

con: it will make the game slightly hard for new players as they wont beable to hide amougst the AFK ones

pro: all realms will go up on the homepage showing average power etc

what are every1s thoughts?

Re: AFK players auto account deletion

accounts are auto-deleted, although the setting is slightly higher than 20 days....
the 'farms' that these inactives accounts make benefit almost solely the new players at lower ranks, so actually add some to the game in allowing newbies to climb fairly 'easily' at least a little bit, while they get used to the game....
i think the question that should be asked is: how many days until inactives are deleted?

For Myself I think 2 weeks (14-15 days) is a far amount. Some ppl might have access to a computer only the weekend, we don't know ppl lives lol

Two weeks sounds preety fair it gives people a chance to get back on before their account is deleted and it dosn't take so long that there is a large number of inactive accounts.

maybe it should be set a somthing like after 5days your account is in suspension, (so you stop gaining turns and naq) then if they dont log-in say 10days after that their account should be deleted.

maybe 10 days is a bit drastic, maybe it should be 20-30.

im guessing its set on about maybe a month now?

I think it's a little harsh.
I have achieved a position in the low 400s in a couple of months, now, if my PC were to suddenely break, and I were unable to fix it for a few weeks, coming back to find my account would make me extremely P'd off.

Maybe the account deletion should occur with people outside of the top 1500.
This way, if you leave and have a good account, it should be able to sustain a position with the top 1500 for a few weeks.

The clock should start to tick for those outside of the top 1500 after 14days.
Also, a warning email telling you of your account deletion is a must this way:
If you don't want the account, it will be deleted.
It could prompt you to get back into gear, and start playing.

I'd say make it at least a month. Don't want people complaining their accounts are gone. I believe hotmail deletes accounts after a month of inactivity, and I think that's a good guideline.

How about if after say 2 weeks or so, the account goes into vacation mode, a warning email be sent, and a notification comes up on the attack screen beside the persons name. The notification of a person's status could be an advantage for many reasons. (I'm not real sure of what vacation mode is, but I get the idea the account is suspended)

This will save people wasting time doing recons and save Mr Server/s from doing needless work, amongst other things.

Then after another couple of weeks, perhaps the account can be removed to a "Santuary" where it is removed to a place that active players do not see it. If it is then not accessed after a longer period, Forum can delete it at his leisure. For that matter, if it is out of sight from active players, problem solved, with the exception of Mr Server having to babysit of course.

For that matter, a notification beside peoples names saying how long since they last logged in could have advantages too.
While we are at it, can a notification be put beside those that are under the PPT? That would save a bit of time too. Not to mention less work for Mr Server. Poor old Mr Server.

You need the farms there to start noobs off. I like it as it is and will fight any attempt to change it. The high setting works well and i know that several noobs (friends of mine) deppend on these inactives. I like it as it is. The higher ranked people can't take much, only noobs can and it helps them with a jump start instead of the useless 20k they give you.

Once again status quoe is good.

LOL. They have it too easy. ;)

When I started you only got 10k and a unit production of 0. Also unit production upgrades cost almost twice as much IIRC as did spy upgrades. No bank and 1/3 less income.... Those where the days... :)
