farming, 10 planets and MS.

i think it would be a good idea if everyone with 10 planets had somewhere to park there MS so they can farm without it.

how about being able to assign MS to planetary defense?
this would add say 25% power to planet defences while leaving the player free to roam the pages without MS engaging just as if you had 9 planets and sent MS out on a planet search.

this would last 24 hours (just like planet search) with the exception that since your MS is in your realm it would NOT be immune from being massed, so if you send your MS on planetary defence and someone attacks (be it a single or multiple attack) and they have their MS with them, your MS will engage theirs just as it does now.

i think this would be very beneficial for both the farmer and the farmed.

I suppose that would be.. oh, because that's the way it is now, and the need to change isn't proven?

The idea is nice, but lacks merit. If you want to farm without using your MS, then only have 9 planets.

I said no because that is the way the game is - if you want to be able to send your mothership away, then the penalty is that you can only have 9 planets.

On the other hand, if you want to have 10 planets, then the penalty is that you can't send your mothership away.

You have the choice, one way or the other, therefore a change is not needed.

To Farm is an attack, to Raid is also an attack. It doesnt matter whether its a dead account or an active account its still an attack and there for the MS is used. On this basis I disagree with this idea.

If you want the advantage of having ten planets, then you should be prepared to deal with the disadvantage of not being able to send your mothership out. There are consequences to every choice, and advantages and disadvantages to every style of play; it's called balance.

The only reason I could see to park or exclude the MS from attacks would be to avoid having to pay fleet repair costs after every attack. If you have so many weapons and fleet fighters that it cost more than its worth to attack then what's the point. So in this light your options are to have 9 planets and send the MS out, sell your fleet so it doesn't cost so much to use the MS or as mentioned, add a way to park/exclude the MS from attacks.

And to add to the options, if you are going to change it to allow for MS exclusion, why not also add the option to exclude attack/def planets from attacks as well?
