I am rather confused what actually belongs in General as apparently "ingame politics" are not "general ingame discussion" anymore. Can please someone enlighten me. Thank you

Haha, the vast majority of discussion which takes place in this section is related, at least in some way, to in-game politics. Remove that from the equation and you'll be left with a dozen happy birthday threads and 'lol whats ur strike" polls.

So your saying you know how the vast majority runs their alliance . But you dont know squat about the #1 ranked alliance? Seems your paying attention to the wrong allliances if you ask me.

why would he care about 44 members ? look, only on alliance ranking first page, there is 871 players in top 30 alliances... DDE is around 5% of first page, nothing less, nothing more. Being in the first ranked alliance doesnt change your status. It's only showing the the galaxy that u love to build high stats.

This topic has nothing to do with any breaking of NAPs or repayments due, but what belongs in General or not. As it stands now posts about broken NAPs are not worthy of General. Would that have changed if there was a poll attached asking if the General public trusts the alliance who broke the NAP? If we cannot inform the general public that a NAP has been broken in General, what is the right forum section to do it? Surely the GC if it leads to war, but what if does not?


On a side note: How the majority "runs their show" does not usually mean they are right. After all DDE has been here for a while so maybe we run our show slightly better then the majority. After all we are the no 1 alliance, aren't we?


I also would like to ask you to use your mod colours. Makes it easier for all involved to separate the player from the mod as this separation has not been visible lately. Thank you.

The topic was made by MFC demanding repayments. NAP breaches are not sgw general issues. If every alliance would post their nap breaches here it would be considered yes. Even attaching a poll to it woudnt change the subject

You know aswell as I that rank 1 means nothing in this game. Every alliance runs their show as they wish as they are free to do so. However 99% of the alliances ingame dont go posting broken naps on the sgw forum and esspecially not claiming rpeyments they leave it up for the diplomats in the alliance to solve as thats the reasson they are appointed as diplomats.

I use my modcolor when it is followed my a mod action. Or when i make a statement as a mad. When you contact me about an issue i respond the way i see fit.

These sorts of threads have always been a bit of a grey line as while they relate to stargatewars, it differs from the abstract discussions and wide announcements the forum is generally used for.

This is a very specific incident aimed at a very specific target and as such, should be adressed to that target. It was not a discussion, debate, public announcement or even a talk on an abstracted set of ideas or ingame mechanics.

It was a personal and private matter which are best off delt with in the more appropiate communication mediums. That is using the ingame private messaging system or instant messagers like MSN. If we encouraged and did not moderate this sort of occurance, it would essentially open the flood gates for turning the general forums into a charade for shame campaigns and threads which have little or no relevence to the readers.

As such we have to be careful not to endorse certain behaviour in order to encourage a more positive and relevent usage of the General forums.
