i think the problem is perception and presentation myself...

a lot of the people who seem to be educated are but mere blips on the radar not harming anyone but there to bolster others ME ratings.....

there are lots of accounts in the huge empires floating around the universe that would qualify for an 'education' under the conditions stated for a so called visit....

personally i really think it's 'im bored so ill mass' situation....its just wearing the guise of 'education' to support justification on massing away smaller peeps who 2 years ago would have been rather taken under the wing and shown the so called 'proper' way to play....

but how can u post your accomplishments on forums under the topic 'im bored so i massed a load of nubs' and expect not to get ridiculed by the rest of the SGW community

they really educate. they even talk about it in the forums. what parameters to use and how to approach a target. after they mass, they educate. which is sad because they could have just posted a sticky on the forum sort of like a helper outer topic for newbies and veteran players. Their propaganda is that they are helping people. But when you lose weeks or even months of hard work because they are "educating" you, how is that supposed to help?

I like to think of 'reasons for massing someone' as being akin to a good.

When Don Perignon vintage champagne is on offer; then you go for it.

But if there's none available, and you feel like a glass anyway, then most people would quite happily settle for some Jacob's Creek sparkling instead, regardless of the fact it's of an arguably inferior quality.

I also think Hellfire made a brilliant point. A point so brilliant, in fact, that it managed to sail clean above the heads of the morons cluttering up this thread. Allow me to requote it for their benefit:

To antz and nightmare for TELLING me that having so many defense supers is a disadvantage. I have learned my lesson and have stopped training defense supers. I use mercs for them instead. I appreciate them TELLING me.

I've already said my piece about what i think of the methods of the educators. As Severian said, it's all about semantics. I'm too tired to repeat them. This is not about the massing. Its about the method that the educators use to impart their knowledge.

If the purpose of educators is to educate and help, then they could post a sticky about what they think is good and what they think is bad. They have the experience after all to do this. In this respect, I thank the educators for making SGW players more aware of excellent SGW game strategies.

My point of contention with you educators is this.

We both want to help and give advice to people. My way of doing it is to tell them about my experiences. I help them. In the same way that Antz and Nightmare helped me. Because of Antz and Nightmare, I was able to help my alliance. Look at my alliance. All newbies. BTW, if you need officers...

On topic... You educators do the same thing. You tell them about your experiences and you help them.

This is where our helpfulness becomes different. I don't mass the people I help.

You see educators, what you are doing is impaling someone with a sword and then bringing them to the hospital. Then you leave the person in the hospital without even helping out with the healing.

To those of you who are thinking that this has anything to do with passivity or aggressiveness, stop now. Its not.

fact is, having someone to 'hate' is what strives ppl to succeed in this game!! when i first started, it was Omega and the GA, i grew and grew fast, so that i wouldnt have to be 'bullied' by these ppl with a grip on the server,

once i was at a point my account was worth something, Omega massed me and my alliance (~Wolfpack~ on Bloody Sunday), so we hit back (and .... did a damn fine job even being offered to merge into GA alliances).

after this, i talked with members of the GA and befriended quite a lot of them. I found that i didnt really 'hate' these ppl, i was simply jealous of them in the beginning, as they were far better than i.

this is exactly the same thing. U guys whine on about us educators (as everyone did with the GA) but the way i see it ....

by giving someone to 'hate'
we provide someone ppl strive to beat,

we're keeping the game alive by making some of those who get hit, build and build, till they can fight back! hence creating more good players in the game, and not just those who buy a crapload of res with $$ for a big army.

u wont understand this unless u've been in the same boat before ....... but honestly and whole heartedly, thats why i'm an educator and i DO believe in it

1) i don't hate you. i don't know you. i just don't like your style of education.
2) do i envy you because you've got good account stats? of course. i wish i started playing sgw in the beginning too so that i could be where you guys are at.
3) do i use my envy to strive harder? nope. i don't. my motivation is to be in the first page of rankings. there are so many names there to see that it doesn't matter who's names are there. The fact is, i want to become better not because of you, but for myself so that you can see my name on those rankings.
4) will i keep on talking about the way you stab people and call it educating? yes i will. please look up the word dignity and respect in he dictionary and figure out how many you educators have stepped on.
