What can I get autobanned for?

There seems to be a lot of confusion at the moment with the autoban - several people being banned for banking/massing/or even ascending.....so what are the things I might get autobanned doing?

Massing:
Will I get banned for opening several pages to sgw, massing in one, repairing weps in another, withdrawing naq in another, and training in another?

When banking:
Will I get banned for banking 999999999999999999, instead of the actual amount on hand?

When ascending:
Will I get banned for untraining and selling stuff up? In case the autoban seems to think I'm a multi and sending it to someone?

Non-numerical characters:
Will I get banned if I accidently enter in a letter instead of a number, for example when massing or buying weps?

A couple of these questions are relevant to me, as I am preparing to Ascend soon...

Especially the issue with entering the wrong amounts in the bank form...see, depending on how many 0's being worked with, you CAN'T SEE the whole amount in the bank form. Sooooo....unless you drag up Notepad, and then C&P the amount, being sure to take out the comma's in the number, well...its VERY easy to accidentally enter a 0 or 3 too many. And, honestly, NotePad, or Word, or any other such doc program can be a pain, and is totally unnecessary.

This whole thing with bad entries triggering the auto-ban is uncool to the max. Seriously, what an auto-ban program should be looking for is Same-IP activity, and sudden large transactions...if you enter to deposit more than you have on hand, it shouldn't send your account to hell...it should just tell you "You dont have enough naq onhand, dummy", and do nothing more.

Battles on SGW move fast...so many people use multiple tabbed windows for various functions. Welcome to the world of Tabbed Browsing. If Admin wants to disallow this, they need to let us know, or adjust the coding to keep up...

As for odd characters in the entry fields...I don't know much about coding, but I know that there are some characters that can sometimes 'interact' with coding adversely...but geesh...how hard is it to code the entry fields to ONLY recognize valid characters, and in the proper numbers? I mean, lets say I want to sell my mercs to Ascend....and from what I hear, I can only enter 6 digits right now....for a max of 999,999 per sale. Ok...lets say, I'm excited...I'm ASCENDING, for the love of the gods...and I want to just get it done and over with...so I get Happy Fingers, and try to enter 9,999,999 (without the comma). Suddenly, -BAM!- I'm autobanned??? No no NO!! The way it SHOULD work is simple: It refuses to handle the transaction, and makes me re-enter till I get the proper amount entered. Same with if I somehow enter (99999...you know, slipped CAPSLOCK syndrome on the first digit...and don't notice it.

I could rant on...but I think you get the point.

that is a bad idea... simply because then the cheaters will know exactly what they can do without being autobanned...

How many threads do I have to post this in? Security by obscurity is a flawed concept. Open source is the way to go if we're looking for security here. Better bug detection and quicker fixes are to our advantage, and to the cheaters disadvantage.

Well the only thing I know for sure is, and this has happened twice to 2 different friends, selling off all your mercs, untraining and selling weapons all at once leads to the autobann kicking in and stripping you of SS, or autobanning.

I dont think the 9999999999 thing does as i use it often myself and have never been bitten.

or tell the tale tale signs it looks for without giving away the code. Everyone I know thats been hit has been hit preascention, or in a sell off/downsizing.

Ive just recently assended

I sold of all mercs and weapons etc and sent trade for naq and uu in private trader and had them decline it once i assended .

no problems for me so far.. (fingers crossed )

i use the 99999999999999999 thing allot saves me time when i want to withdraw everything in my bank or send all my units spying or what ever.

well most things should still work. as banking ascending and massing. and i think non-nukmerical chars worlk also.

and i do agree wtih cyberblade. open-source is the way to go. example could be linux vs XP

AFAIK using 9999999999 WILL ban you in CERTAIN cases that are yet to be determined.

however, to be safe do NOT use it.

ah, i do this lots too, just hold down the "1" button for a few seconds, it saves me counting out all the 0's... actualy i do it pretty much every day or 2, and i havnt had any troubles with it yet, and thats withdrawing amounts between 100bil and 2tril...
