Help with up and officers

Ok I think I didn't really got the point of takin officers and the whole up thingy. So I decided to ask, my total up without officers in 215k up, 76,021 raw, and I have 2 officers atm Pre-Officer
Total UP Race
573,696 Ancient
355,440 Tollan

291,445 total-my up now...

So how much up can I have max or am I at my max now?

i'm not sure, but i believe you can only take half of your raw UP from each officer

Assuming your at 30% income you'd need,

172,109 raw up to receive the full benefit.

573,696 * 0.15 * 2 = 172,109

This however is assuming officer UP bonus is worked out individually. If it instead is calculated over your total officer UP bonus (like planets are calculated) then it would look more like this.

(((573,696 + 355,440) * 0.15) / 2) * 2 = 139,371 raw up to receive the full bonus.

Formula looks something like:

(((Sum of your officers 'pre-officer' UP) * (Income % / 2) / Amount of officers) * 2 = raw UP needed

Yeah, there is a slight redundancy in there, but it 'works' more logical. Also if your going to actually raise your raw UP Mcshell, would be nice if you could test which way it's worked out.

cycladic, could you help me to understand this? i only receive 20,338 from my 3 officers. i have 112k raw up and im at 30%. my officers' pre-officer bonuses are ~100k, ~30k and ~6k. i used your formula and it said i only need like 13k raw to receive full bonus.

Well, if the bonus UP you receive is worked out like planets then at 20,338 you should receive 6,779 UP from each officer, which gives you your 13k raw. Your officer with 100k UP will make up for the UP not provided by your officers with 30k and 6k UP.

Like with planets, if you have 15,000 raw UP with a 10,000 UP planet and a 5,000 UP planet, you'll still receive the full 15k bonus provided by the planets.

i.e. Planet 1 provides the 7,500 maximum UP it can (limited by your raw UP), while also providing an 'extra' 2,500 UP towards Planet 2's contribution.

However if planets were worked out individually, you'd just receive and extra 12,500 UP (7,500 + 5,000).

Anyway, I think the main point is that while each individual officer contribution is limited by your raw UP, it can actually 'cheat' the cap and contribute more by 'making up' for someone with less UP.

(Italics is assuming the fact that bonus officer UP is calculated in the same was as planets).
