Look at the war tactics used in the wars these days compared to the ones back in the 20th century.

What you all fail to see is this was never really an ok tactic until just very recently.

When I started this game, when an officer was attack, alliances would almost go to war because of it. Now, an officer is treated as second class.

I agree that a CO and Officer are connected, but only for naq and UU. If they arnt in the same allinace, same Pact, why should they be massed?

Its a coward mans act, a way for those who cannot carry through with just farming, the only real tactic left in this game.


Just one more thing, you all seem to think this is just because of what is happening in the Sever War, its not. My officer was half massed by Kill just because he was my officer and providing reasoruces.


The games community is vancant of all Honorability. If you look for a clean, honorable 1vs1, it wont happend. Someone will join in, or mass ones officers.


The officer massing thing is a very recent problem with todays gamers, and with it we are losing more and more of the real game of StarGateWars.

I disagree. It's been both acceptable and ongoing for as long as I have been playing. IF this is a war game, you cut off the supply lines.

If you care for your officer...boot him before war.

K well as much as i cried reading the last few posts....my cause for posting isnt for that simple because this thread isnt about that. I would of loved a notice though and i wouldnt have backed off....

Anyways. When did it become ok to mass officers in war? Well i was a non-ascended when i remembered of people calling foul when officers would get hit. But the answer is very simple. When war is fought, many people suffer and learn harsh values of violence. We can see spikes of national violence (in wartorn countries) post war because people believe that violence is ok since every1 else is doing it, including their own government. Esspecially if it benefits them.
In the case of SGW, back in the days of old. Smaller accounts would suffer when the larger accounts prospered by farming them and not caring for their loses. Smaller accounts would become bitter and believe its ok to be violent since that's how the larger accounts became strong. Now the small accounts have become big and strong and have thier morals twisted by old scars.

Its really messed to hit officers.... but if you want to be ruthless. I respect your decission, but I disagree with it.

In answer to the thread tittle because i cant be bothered to read 4 pages of answers or pointless spam

In my opinion the commander officer relation is a mutual benefit, UP for extra income but i`m pretty sure its an unwritten law that it is the Commanders responsibilty to protect his/her officers in what ever way is best

a brilliant example of this would be Jedi and his officers, barely anyone hits his officers for naq because of his protection

So why is it ok for them to be protected by his actions but as soon as his actions (being involved in a war) cost them resources, (I.E a defence) the person massing is honorless, wrong, blah blah blah
