What is dishonorable in war?

What do you guys think is dishonorable in a war?

There seams to be alot of different opinions on this.

Recent one that i can think of is targeting officers but some say planets(lol). Then one i personally dont like is spies.

If this is in relation to the big war, I don't see why people are even trying to gain the moral high-ground in judging the opposition. Not attributing these things to any particular side, but at a glance:

The political games played before this war, broken promises, broken pacts, preparing for war behind the scenes while publically promoting peace, playing upon friendships for information, espionage, the amount of petty abuse in that thread, the sigs and graphical representations in bad taste, mob mentality to flood away reason and simply abuse someone, actions during previous conflicts contradicting values being falsely preached but most of all, those who do not stand for the values and causing trouble/taking up xyz cause for political or malicious purposes only.

The way I see it, if we're going to point fingers, we might as well be a horribly mutated Shiva-like being as we'll need an awful lot of hands.

The war has happened. If we see something we don't agree with, odds are our own side has commited something along the lines of it as well. That's not to say you're not allowed to point it out, but rather people should be careful about riding the high horse and if they didn't agree with abc and condem it, why were they silent for a multitude of other events involving either themselves or their allies...

really i cant think of any

like everything in the game is apart of war

officers are there for protection.... but during wars they are supplying the Co wiht uu whihc u got to cut off their supply so i cant see anythign dishonourable about that

its a tactic of war

i myself was a victem of this tactic but i stayed wiht my CO but i still continued to get hit

so really it not really dishonourble

but dishonor is poeple during wars name call an so on much
not letting go of things like most people i see in this war
name calling geez thats just low

only the weakest people in the game name call others
but i see people like TJP name calling an FUALL doing the same

what is dishonourable

wel things i know we would all agree upon is:

- leaving your alliance the moment a war starts under the moto: i don' thave the time to play

if you realy don't have time to play : go on vac

- leaving your alliance during a war under reasons like: i'm not growing enough, it's boring, you want to have a defence and all other lame excuses

Nothing is dishonorable accept being abusive...

cus I think the people that own their accounts decide their game play what so ever.

Being abusive and choosing to hit those who have nothing to do with the war (ie officers and other neutral alliances)... Sending spies is not exactly nice as well, as it is really sad when you cannot trust even your alliance mates...

I'd put cheating of any kind highest of all on the dishonor list.

Not honorable? List is long to me.

Quit alliance during the war, if you badly don't want it, get out before!

Be a spy in your alliance, and give out infos to enemy for being massed and farmed less.

Use rude comments and annoying ways to attack the enemy, in forums or via pms.

Attack people who you farmed who aren't part of war, call them vultures, and mass them for attacking you, in the case of you are the starter of this "conflict" between people and you.

Join the enemy side in middle of battle.

Mass officers who aren't part of the war.

Accuse people of cheating or scamming from enemy side when it's lies.

And as Mordack said, cheat.

THe bigger the war the less the rules apply.

Just look at real life wars. We have all sorts of pacts to protect POW and CIVs etc .... but the bigger the war gets the more likely we are to see rules broken.

By that I mean nuclear war, the end of the planet and all human life. Pretty much the biggest rule of them all, but were a big war to occur now in real life, the horrors unleased would be unthinkable.

This is a game, and like my other games it is a way to "play war without real life consequences". In a game you can cheat, spy, lie, use human sheilds, suicide attack, no holds barred?

So the bigger the war in the game, the less the rules apply. I think this war will last a very long time and will change the face of SGW forever.

Does anyone believe that our governments are NOT working heavily on cyberwarfare ??

However as a game / simulation ... should we be bound by rules or break them for a big war? I'm sure most answers would be no, don't cheat hack scam blah blah (not mr blahh with 2 H's !)

Therefore the way we conduct warefare in this game is by the rules set before us, the game makers limitations.

We can smack talk on forums - do it.
We can steal planets and mass officers - do it.
We can send our troops to their deaths as suicide bombers, unarmed whatever.

We can do it all, except what the game creators deem wrong like; multi's hacking etc etc ...
