The problem facing the mods is that:

If you lay down a set of rules, people will find ways to skirt around them and in all but name break them/the spirit of them and it boils down to arguing symantics to defend against obvious intent.

If you lay down a set of guidelines, relying on the mods' common sense, it is highly subjective and people will cry out bias if they don't like being called out on things.

The current team has gone with the first option and that means a lot of grey skirting where the intent is obvious but the argument presented is a farce to get away with it. However sometimes it really is honest and it's quite difficult to tell the two apart.

It all boils down to trying to preserve a working enviroment for all involved as an active and somewhat friendly forum acts as a catalyst for ingame, which being a source of revenue for the top brass is a job well done.

People want certain doors opened. Six months down the track, can they guarentee that all that comes through is what they promote here? Or will like all things to date, be taken advantage of and pushed even further and further.

I've had my run ins with the mods but I also realise that these things are two handed swords and just how difficult or how often they find a lose/lose situation depending on if they act or not.

People do not seem to realize the position that the mods are in.

Everyone will shout bias. Some will bend the truth (geisha), some will try and manipulate the system to their benefit.



1. The rules should be quite clear. If you mask, you should be banned. Because you are purposely trying to say something that the forum admin and the game owner thought best filtered out. Personally, I think that constitutes more then enough reason to be banned.

2. Players always take it out on the mods ingame...Don't tell me it doesn't happen, it does. I've done it in the past myself. Even if you don't agree with the decisions they make, you should respect that they are their decisions to make. IE.. Quit complaining and moaning all over forum at your perceived injustice(geisha).

3. You should take up all concerns with smoosh, whomever the ombudsman is in a week or two, or a few of the mods...THIS should be done via pm, as to not publicly put everyone on the spot. This is a respect issue, something some players (geisha) do not seem to understand....

4. If you do not like how this forum is being run, you always have the option to not visit it. This has been explained to me in the past, as well as others. I have been on both sides of this argument, but I have learned to abide by the rules.

5. Follow the golden rule if it has to do with mod's. This isn't an ingame thing, so roleplaying doesn't apply..... Treat others as you yourself would like to be treated.

He got a warning for calling Aureil a retard. Not to say that he had a right to do it, but this is what I meant few months ago about mods taking away words we can't say when they took Hell away. Now they're saying retard is a no no.

Mods: As I said before, this is crap. Not saying I should be able to get on here and cuss out every single person I see, but I should be able to use words that are used and not regarded as foul language. If people's feelings get hurt off of what goes on in this game, they need to quit. Since I can't say what I want to without getting modded or warned it is one of the reasons why I've quit. If anything make a disclaimer or something saying: Warning, your feelings may ( most likely ) will get hurt on these forums.

I think that mods need to not make decisions that contradict another mod's decision.

for example: Let's say that player X wants to put up a certain sig. However this sig may contain masking and he is not sure if it should be put up.

now let's say that mod A says that it is okay to have that filtered word in your signature if it is posted as a lowercase j with the medical term for someones butthole in all caps behind it. so player X makes a sig like that and puts it up.

now let's say that mod B comes along and he is very offended by this signature. so he tells automatically warns player X without knowing that mod A has said it was okay.

now player X talks to mod A and mod B. Mod A, after a certain amount of talking is convinced that it was an unfair warning. However, Mod B refuses to remove the warning and goes away feeling proud that he protected these forum users from seeing a version of Janus that looks strangely like the term for a person's butthole. good job mod B!

its not ok to go around to calling people offensive names like that,no matter the circumstances! it may not be a curse word but can be quite offensive to the receiver and to other people that may be reading it!

i also think the mods are doing a decent job,some may make mistakes and bad judgements,but we all have our bad days!
we just have to accept it and move on! stop making such a big deal!
if you have a serious problem,bring it up with admin or someone higher up than the problem,otherwise stop complaining!
