Because when I realized that she was banned for another reason, it was undone. Besides, I plan to suggest that altering quotes should be against the rules. As it is putting someone else's words in your mouth.

I understand full well what problems a mod can face. Surprisingly, its not an excuse. The inability to deal with all of this things one must face as a mod, just goes to show one thing. They shouldnt be a mod, if they cannot face it and react to it properly, without being en extreme of some description.

The problem with the signatures should not be a problem. The entire thing should have been dealt with respectfully and quickly. As it so happens, the entire issue was debated over for days, and the backlash of it is still being felt to this day, months later and has reached the point where a certain SIMPLE word has been banned!!! Not to mention the idea of "banning all sigs for the duration of the war" good grief. I am not going to deny the community played a large role in that situation, but so did the inadequacies of a unorganised and dreadfully put together mod team, and at this point, only one of the two can be pheasably changed.

these are last resorts. trust me, we've tried as hard as we can to fix this type of stuff. then new stuff comes up.

if this is a last resort for the people,then they should have a specific problem to say,i know there was a few mentioned,but if they have gone to the mods or admins and got it sorted,then why still complain.
i do agree with certain points,but it seems to have been blown out of preportion in some parts!
if the problem is sorted,then what is the there to complain about,if you believe that there is a mod that is doing a really bad job in particular,bring it up with the administrators and they will sort out there problem!

I am a moderator, but I mainly reply to this as a member of the community.

The recent events have been childish and immature. I tried to get a serious discussion going, but it proved to be pointless. The fact of the matter is, the JANUS PACT was turned into a punny play on words. Having fun with it should have been expected by any native english speaker. Some people do not know where to draw the line, especially on the internet. Instead of having the laugh of two, some people carried the joke on too far. IMHO, the FUALL mercs' tagline was funny. But, instead of people having their moments of humor, decided to complain about it. The issue was compounded when non-native speakers came into the mix.

Secondly, the issue with mods issuing too many warnings... Mods will not have to issue many warnings if users know where to draw the line. Also, when you have non-native speakers issuing warnings about the English language, that may not be the best of ideas.

It happens everywhere. Politics, sports, work places, and online internet forums. Problems will keep piling up, one on top of another until it becomes too much to bear, at which point it will all come crashing down in a massive uproar. It can only be avoided is by the community, more so the major alliances, trying to make changes for the better.

i think he should have gotten a warning!
its not ok to go around to calling people offensive names like that,no matter the circumstances! it may not be a curse word but can be quite offensive to the receiver and to other people that may be reading it!

i also think the mods are doing a decent job,some may make mistakes and bad judgements,but we all have our bad days!
we just have to accept it and move on! stop making such a big deal!

Well I'm 90% sure Auriel isn't a retard. So I don't see how she would get insulted or anything from that. TBH, I seriously don't see how anyone could be insulted by that.
