Two global mods from one of the main continents. USA (one west side, one east) Europe (UK and the continent) Australasia (Aussie, indo and New Zealand.) They are the main time zones of players.
Pure and simple. Six global mods nominated by the public, and ultimately chosen by the admins annually. If your good, your will stay in.
The I would suggest the following.
SGW general/welcome to the forum/forum issues/SGC = 4 mods to overlook them all. Chosen by the community twice a year. (nominated by community over a period of 3 days, and voted for over 4 days.) (again one from each time zone would be good to)
SGC = A clear set of DIFFERENT rules partaining to the ideas of role play and the fact players in this section will be in 'war'. So things like 'A nus' can be allowed etc etc. Afterall their is a warning on the GC already regarding things like this.
Assign the original race mods from the main races to the chaos and ascended races as well.
Two mods for the misc section and the issues area (suggestions, complaints cheaters and such). Once again, nominated by the public, chosen by the admins. Annually.
20 mods would be MORE then enough to run this place considering the activity in some areas. If the global mods do their jobs correctly, and people stay true to their area's.
How would the voting work correctly without bias? It dam well wouldnt work the way most would want. if the community votes in who they like, then the relations with the community will be good. The person though of course has to accept the position and be dedicated to it.
What about people in odd time zones? Such as Wolf359? Well pertaining they are very active, let them represent a time zone they are closest to.
The entire system should be re-done, starting from scratch.
What say you all?
The mod team should be re-organised.

Re: The mod team should be re-organised.
i agree to a degree, but there should be someone to say that the person is fit for the job, someone could be a very good moderator but might notbe on much! wha about the rest of the sections? i don't believe two would be enough for the misc and issues area, what if a day or so passes and neither come on. its all about pickin the right people, people that won't be bias and have favourites,it'd be hard but if they left favouritism to a minimum it could workout properly.
I grew up on the street. No, not the hood, the Sesame Street.

bias and favourites are unavoidable.
Picking the right people is exactly what this is all about. Thats why I said for the main part community nominated.

I'm partially agreed. Mainly with the reasons.. the conclusion I can't match with my thoughts.
Unless of course, we could find a way to have them appointed by a staff in paid service of KingdomGames..

A different system is needed purely because the current one is not working. Once again uneeded problems are being sprouted.
Any system can never be perfect, but at least that should not stop us trying to reach a better system.

Re: The mod team should be re-organised.
Your talking about the mechanics of the team here when as far as I can tell your problems (along with others) are the team or its individuals themselvs who are charged with a daunting task of regulating rules that are changing everyday to suit the needs of this public forum.
You want the community to elect mods which has been said wisely in the past would be a popularity contest and easily manipulated to favor a specific group of people and as Apophis has said in time the community will turn on those elected mods regardless.
Im sorry but I think you are generalizing issues and over dramatizing instances that have been and are being delt with and that effected only a small portion of the community.
That being said that portion of the community being the most endeared and most active and most profound of personalities in game and in forum and with out them we as a community would be at a loss.
However I dont think this is as one sided as you would have us all believe, Pointing a finger at the mods without being willing to take on some personal and community wide responsibility for what is said and represented by our own posting and expressions of self is paramount to the solutions.
Instead of trying to fix everything I believe we are better served to isolate the immediate issues at hand, for example ,the censorship of certain words the accusations of bias , use of images.
These topics are being discussed already with great ideas and intelligent solutions by thoughtful people such as yourself and many others who care enough to give there time and energy to the evolution of this forum. I have no doubt in the ability and desire of both admin and mods to rectify these issues. I have great faith in the members who undoubtedly have the ability and intelligence to reach a place of compromise and understanding as we work through this.

wouldnt work...
* the main race mods arent active on chaos and the chaos mod team is mostly chosen by the chaos admins... not sure about quantum, but we believe that the race mods dont play that...
* just covering the time zones isnt enough... just because someone is from europe, does not mean that that person is active during the day in european time...
the idea about different rules for different areas, though... that could perhaps work... (and it is to some degree in effect, i.e. spam temple doesnt have many rules, the market has extra set of rules, etc.)
the current team was chosen for effectiveness... not for popularity... just because a person is popular, does not mean that he/she/it is a good mod...

Re: The mod team should be re-organised.
i did not say a popular person would be a good mod. I said they would be accepted better.
MLH is a lot sharper then I originally anticipated. None the less, the problem still remains that the community cannot and will not change. Its too big, too many.
The current mod team is not effective at anything save annoying people.
Regarding isolated instances, the problems with the sigs I believe could have been avoided with more of a better initial response from the moderating team.
The entire issues pertaining around the current war, with, from what seems like, warnings flying left right and centre from a power happy Nimras, Jack and FS are not helping the situation, and only goes to enforce the fact that none of them can handle the role when it is needed to be done properly the most, ergo should not be where they are.
The fact that Spacey, jenny, lore, dadigi, the other guy with the name starting in 'T', and yourself Zeratul hardly do a thing, and I mean that to those of you who are my friends, with high amounts of respect, but why are you there?
I rest my case that the current state of affairs is a farce, and something needs to be done.
