generally i come here to unwind and to have a little light hearted fun. however when asked an intelligent question, i give an intelligent answer. simple.

i use my brain only in extreme circumstances, partially due to laziness, partially due to a desire to enjoy myself rather than instigate arguements with people i will never meet

MLH, i agree, under challenging conditions a person can be coerced into acheiving there potential

however, i submit for your leisure:

under extreme conditions an individual who considers themselves to be intelligent may well be more likely to crack under the pressure. How many amongst us have had an exam and seen a question which is not immediately solvable (although we are capable of solving it) and panicing and made a mess of it, whereas in different circumstances you could have figured it out?

also, intellect is all good and well, however in circumstances two IQ's of 90 would be infinetely more usefull than one of 180

this neurologicaly was proved, the human brain have the ability to divide the " CPU`s" or neuron segments of the brain, to be able to manage multiple and variate operations at the same time.
just try this: count some money, lissen Rammstein, watch a triller movie, and talk with your girlfriend on the mobile phone; all at the same time, try to divide the attention evenly....
And, after 5 min, if you know the sum of counted money corectly, if you can recall 10-15 german words, even you have no ideea what they mean, if you realize why that stupid blond girl could`nt escape from that chainsaw, and finnaly if your girlfriend did not broke with you,
thats mean that you are a geni, no mather what people think about you ...

ahh.. my favourite bell curve! it explains everything! especially why there's more men holding more influencial positions (that require more intelligence) than women yet women are in average more intelligent than men. it also explains why the majority of women is not able to understand this.
