'tis the purported foundation for a European Nation, according to nationalists. Basically, the quarrel is a peaceful version of the American Civil War in regards to the political views of the yes-men and the no-men..

Re: NO!
Hm.. since the Treaty can be seen as pointing Europe in the direction of a nation with a head of state/committee instead of the current system (a union), I'm guessing the Treaty-supporters are the south.. if I remember my Civil War history well, AND interpret the Treaty correctly.

remembering the causes of the civil war i'm not so sure. the souterners didn't like the washington crowd meddling in their custom duties and taxes, so i think we are the south.

Re: NO!
1. can some of ya yanks brief him on us history?
2. the goal of the eu project is to establish one paneuropean supranational etatistic government devoid of citizens' control (does anyone know how barroso ended up there? has anyone voted for him?) that'd take over all competences of national governments and redesign the present national states into euroregions (basically, it's like ussr, just created not by revolution but deception and step by steps small changes)
3. lisbon treaty is a step in this direction. apart from this not many ppl really know what it brings.
4. lisbon treaty can be changed to better accomodate the above stated goal (yes. they will tell us what taxes we should have. they did this already back when ireland's cit was 10%. because of the pressure from the eu ireland had to raise it to 12.5% - same as in the uk, the lowest rate at that time).
btw: north had nicer looking uniforms

Re: NO!
I don't need brief history I know what I need to know about it, ie no need to know of pathetic excuses brought by south to have slaves and all the things making them "not so bad" etc...

Re: NO!
actually... the division between the northside and the southside exist today (it's really more south-east vs everywhere else)
slavery wasn't the main cause of the civil war

If that was directed at Pops, don't waist your breath. Refer to definition #2 for donkey.
lol I didn't say it was the cause of the war, I KNOW it was about PROTECTIONISM and all that stuff of free trades, being more easy in south, because of plantations; while north is made of industries with work division like Adam Smith shown in his pins factory theory etc....
I didn't read the link, just the "ranks". Don't need to read it I already knew it
First origins of Taylorism applied in north etc...
I said south SUPPORTED slavery, not went to war mainly for it!
