Definition of the ombdus(wo)man job.

Let me give my input as mod and users as they are currently alike on their thoughts.

Having an ombuds(wo)man who has a side of ether TJP or FUALL would not solve anything. The person would yet still be influanced towards their alliance and therefor can never be 100% unbiased as noone in this game can not even the admin. Everyone always keeps the thought of what suits me best in mind. Noone is perfect enough as its not in our nature. However to even the odds as far as possible a "neutral" person in the game (in this case MajorLeeHurts) should forfill the role to the above written standards from draleg in his first post. it makes perfect sence and its one of the best soggestions i have ever seen here for that mate.
No matter how the vote goes as mod and user i will say you cant get it any better. Even the odds. Just my point of vieuw but consider these words wisely and as neutral as possible.

Lol hehe i know i am late on this but i sad and read the thread.

I like that people say no one can be unbias or always will be a tad more leaniant to their friends, empire and own bonds.

I know for sure 1 if not 2 mods plus my self who get bashed from all even own friends for warning and banning them lol.

Even in this server war both side bash me for warning them calling me bias.

But for a ombudwhatnot i would say it doenst matter what side they are on as long they can work with the mod team and with the users 100%. But the person is also here to help users with issues if they dont wanna take it up with the mod in question or go to a supermod who outranks a mod or even a admin who out ranks well everyone lol. But the ombudswhatnot is also here to help the mods explaine a user what they did and why to make sure a user understand that it was fair and no it werent a biased ruling.

I think the ombudsman should be able to override the mods in the event that the ombudsman thinks it's a bad call or a biased call.

If the mod disagree's, he should be able to approach the forum admin with his complaints. I like to think of the ombudsman being the overriding vote between two parties. He may side with the player, but he may also side with the mod...So make sure you are right before asking, lest you not like the result.

I totaly do not agree on your point of vieuw here ( the bold part ) , if this was the way the OM wold go to work there wold definitly be a bigger chance of biash , cos the dicision wold be up to one person , giving him the power to diside alone.
If there is a valid reason why a mod disision needs to be undone it wold have to be funded with the wisdom of all mods , thus making it harder to use the OM position for your own personal / alliance benifit.

I believe that there are avenues to challenge a decision already in place. You can petition another mod and work through appropriate channels with patients and perseverances given the decision is questionable.

I'm not one to complain about wat Jack did , i think he did a verry good job , but as for him not being associated with a 'group'.. thats your vieuw , we dont know wat other ppl think about this.
