ombudsman voting - fair or not

Do you think this voting is fair?

There are alot of us who cant vote and because of that alot of players doesnt have a chance. At the end of this, ombudsman will be someone who has more friends on this forum and he wont be fit for the job. There are people that have accounts for more than six months and they dont have enough posts and they can still vote. If that make them active(thats what mods say)or they have a reputation(again what mods say), then someone has to take a head scan for injuries.

Please vote

Re: ombudsman voting - fair or not

The system isn't completely fair, admittedly, but can you think of a better alternative? If so, then please submit it for consideration.

As inefficient as certain aspects of this system are, I still think it's preferable to having the vote compromised by forum multi-accounts.

Re: ombudsman voting - fair or not

Smoshable can check every account ingame and on forum. That shouldnt be much of a problem. If he says he doesnt have the time, then someone else can take his job.

Re: ombudsman voting - fair or not

What i find strange is, on the original vote, where you put the names forward, kill and piano where way up there, but now the poll vote doesnt reflect this.........I know alot of people who have asked for access but haven't got it..

Why doesn't he just bloody pick 1, apparently its the best way to become a supermod around here anyway, become A/M do nothing, side with mods everytime, pretend to be important, then just decide you will become a supermod.
Deep within Noob Cave, you find a strange pool filled with a glowing blue liquid. You think back to what your mother told you about unfamiliar liquids found in caves.

You're pretty sure she said "Drink it! What's the worst that can happen?"

Re: ombudsman voting - fair or not

Before you ask, I am the 2nd yes vote in your poll. The reason I voted yes is because for the most part the minimums ARE fair and neccessary and there are only a handful of us affected otherwise. That doesn't mean i'll drop my push for those of us who have fallen between the cracks to be able to vote though. Don't condem the entire system when only a little modification can be used to improve it. Don't just rant and rave, give solid arguements and sound reasoning and most importantly well thought out suggestions.

One last thing... stop making so many topics, you only weaken your position by spamming the forums.

Edit:
@Mordack
Id make a suggestion if I knew it would actually be listened to and not ignored out of hand because the current system is already in place...

No, I would have assumed you understood that from the half a dozen responses I've made in this thread and the other...

Re: ombudsman voting - fair or not

Your not helping the cause. Stop throwing around accusations and put together a solid arguement. If you run around yelling its not fair, blame the mods/government/aliens and making dozens of topics then your going to not only be ignored but ridiculed.

Re: ombudsman voting - fair or not

standards to get a vote are a tad high but what can you do given past experience lol.

I personaly most likely won`t be partaking in the vote but form what I gather everyone has 2 votes with 4 candidates.
I think that is overthinking it and an unecessary complication tbh. It`s complicated, many ppl don`t quite get it as it wasn`t really 100% explained everywhere and I only picked up the workings in some random comaperson post (lol no offense).
It actually promotes ppl calculating their votes. If you have only 1 favorite the most obvious choice is not necesarily the best and the whole thing, as I`ve said, is poorly presented ergo ppl are prolly just klicking the option most favoring their candidate allready when in realitly they`d only be voting for their prefered candidate if the second choice would not be his direct competition as the votes would just cancle out (underdog and quite possibly the one person they dont want to see).
So in essence to in practice vote for a guy/gal you must actually vote for a guy/gal you possibly don`t want to see elected lol. I mean these preferential votes have a point in voting of party "lists" but not so much in direct head to head person votings lol.

I mean you will avoid the argument that the winning % of votes will not be the majority of all the votes (cos they`ll be evenly spread) but you`re facing a real possibility that the person that gets elected was not the person getting the majority of the "my 1st choice" votes but the person that sweept the polls as a reserve lol.

Which actually works out quite nicely imho, given the problems I`ve raised in regards to ingame allegiances. A lot of fuall will vote their guy 1st and a neutral one 2nd just to avoid TJP and vice versa meaning the neutral person will take home the crown. The only thing messing up that is fuall having an actuall 1/2 combo of theirown so it is not a 100% sure "in the bag" thing for MLH lol.

It`d be ql if the reasoning was actually explained in detail and not only "2nd choice will count"... count how lol? As it stants one must ponder a bit what option actually really benefits his favorite and not just pile the love on the option he`s running away with heh. :P

Re: ombudsman voting - fair or not

Get over it. You seem to fail to understand that if we would indeed have to check every game account to a forum account, we'd need hours and hours.
Some of us have lives, you know. It's not like anyone actually gets paid to do their jobs here.

Geez.. if we were to do it any other way, we'd be loaded under other comments of 'unfairness', so really, it's up to smooshable to do what he thinks has the least chance of actually being unfair.

And seriously, how many people can you know in a mere 6 months.. at least the ones over 6 months have an actual proven interest in the game, not merely one-day-flies. That people who are regged 5 months ago are cut off from voting is collateral damage. Pity, but one needs to draw the line somewhere.

Last of all, surely you realise the futility of complaining and whining with the voting in full swing.. you don't think anything is actually going to change now that we're in full business, I hope.
