How could these 'barbarians' defeat a mighty empire? yes, they were better organised then the roman books tell us. (those are from the roman view, ofcourse the others are ruthless and barbarian if your empire gets attacked by them, maybe in the barbarian view the romans were the barbarians

same with the vikings, they made good moves, conquered alot of land. they were organised.
Every story has 2 sides but on most occasions only 1 side gets told.
That my friend is only half the story.
Rome also collapsed upon itself because of rampant corruption of the Roman senate.

actually, amongst the "barbarians" there was Atila, the Hun, that got every hun tribe together under one ruler, him, and the huns had invented a a saddle where they could attack easily (with their bows and stuff) the enemy, so raiding was faster and deadlier with them (saddles that were used by mediavel armies many centuries later
those "barbarians" were not that barbarians

Echoing my earlier posts, Barbarians were far more effective than they should've been but due to the hiring of German mercs who were no where near as combat effective as a regular in the Roman army.
Run on sentence? I think so

Re: My resignation as alpha leader
so this topic is about alpha and we're talking about history
I know atila's history quite well, i have always been interested in history and not only 1 side.
As example, the WWI & II, i dont only read the allied side of the story, but the axis side is also interesting

Re: My resignation as alpha leader
You mean the part where the winners of WWI levied so many fines and whatnot on the german people that they were forced to listen and consider Hitler as a viable/good new leader that could help bring them out of the dark?

Re: My resignation as alpha leader
Ok I forgot to post this one so I`ll give it a shoot
I find it funny how fuall members say what a big "family" they are,how they help one another when it`s needed, how good FRIENDS they are and when ones priorities change and he chooses to disagree with the leadership or doesn`t like where his alliance is headed and chooses to leave in the end, they just show him the door and take him out like a piece of garbage they dont have any use for....
Don was a part of CoP,fuall or whatever for more than 2 years, surely done pretty much for the prosperity of the alliance and was a great leader and they just "kick" him out and forget about everything that ever happened between them(I am not throwing everyone into one sack but there are certain members which take it like that)
Why should they care about members who dare to disagree with them???they have planety more 1+- doesnt make a difference, they can always find a substitute...
Qouting the great words of mr.draleg:
"Oh , dont forget to leave your sig on your way out ..."
I would expect better of you draleg, why sholdnt he keep the sig???heck if he left the alliance I would make him an apreciation or a goodbye sig or some memorial sig and not act like a spoiled child with the words "dont forget to leave our toys here, they dont belong to you"
next mr. mordack
"I always said this war would weed out the bad seeds"
bad seeds???well if Don was a bad seed in your eyes I dont wanna know what other members who choose do disagree with any of you will mean to you if they ever meant anything to one of you at all
This is a game for people,to have fun together, find yourself a new friend, maybe even in RL and not argue over some numbers and throw everything behind just because you feel insulted or betrayed...
I love people pointing fingers at others how seriously they take the game when they themselves throw friendships behind them for a disagreement
well although it`s hard for me to say it,TLE are really something you can call a family, atleast someone cares about their members

I think Don Lewis was a good guy, and someone who did a lot for his alliance.. but I also think that the Empire is probably better off without someone who was apparently so unhappy here, and so chose to flounce out of his alliance in such a public and damaging way. Maybe "bad seed" was too strong a choice of words, but I certainly think both parties will be happier with the new arrangement.

Please don't act as if there aren't internal problems in TLE; because there are. There's bound to be friction in any organization which is as large as either FUALL or TJP, as it's just human nature. The only difference seems to be that TJP have the sense to be discreet about theirs.

I will agree that it's important, yes, and something FUALL needs to work on. But essential? I disagree. Some TLE members are looking far harder on the forums than they do in-game though, I'll grant you that.

Re: My resignation as alpha leader
i think this boils down to the people who lead these big alliances
with myself being a leader for over 2 years now i have seen many people leave the alliance, i dont think i have ever publicly brought them down like some has in this thread because in the end this is just a game and if they want to leave why should i stab them in the back after they have been in the alliance helping out anyway they can.
Don must have been a great player and great leader to even get to the position he was in in the first place, this means that big man ETL must have seen his quality. if Don was leaving TO after all of this is would have thanked him and wished him well, as it was the right thing to do.
maybe some players and leaders in all alliances should seriously think to themselves wat this game means to them, cos some people take it way too seriously
