IN forums i see loads of people withh banners under their names... How do i do this... i have the banner i want but i dont know how to put it on...
can someone plz go through the process step by step

first you must host the banner at a webhosting place ( http://www.villagephotos.com is a good one)
then copy the link they give you and paste it in the sig part of your profile, surrounded by the "[img]" "[/img]" tags and then save changes, and it should work.
practically the same for avatars i think
with the exception that avatars is actually easier...

For those that also want to use a banner, make sure it's not too wide. Otherwise, the right side will stretch right off the screen and take the posted text with it, making the pages very annoying to read. So please keep that in mind.

Very nice. All of the above banners are good examples. They're not too large, they don't distract too much, and most importantly they don't make the text scroll off the screen.
As a guideline, I suggest you keep your banners within 600x100 pixels give or take.
