Quite the opposite, Jack. I like you as a person, you are funny to talk with, funny to joke with. However, i don't like how you deal with forum users and excuse it with 'grow some skin'. It's not how moderator should act towards forum users...

Yeah I doubt people "hate" you as a person because I doubt many know you "personally". But I think a lot of people "dislike" your attitude and the way you do things as a Mod on these forums.

You know what's more of a shame? That while mods cannot respond to accusations to their person or their functioning made by a regular user, regular users CAN respond to posts by moderators. Double standards.. ftf.

technically mods shouldn't be posting in here... the ombudsman will bring the issues raised here to the mod forum where you can discuss it with him and he will come back and put the views of the moderator(s) towards the forum users.

This is so the users can speak there mind without fear of moderators being abusive towards them.

As a moderator you are doing a job. You not treating it like that is the main reason the problems are occuring.

My "attitude", as you put it, is a direct reflection off my personality....

Yet again, wasn't I fired for being 'taking things too personally' for 'being emotional' and 'stubborn'? Come on Jack. You are doing it, and not like me only in moderator forum and on msn (aka private channels) but you do it even while posting on these forums, while modding.

It's this double standard which leaves me with bad taste in my mouth.

And no.. if things would work like that, this forum should also be 'post only' not even readable for anyone but the ombudsman. Instead of moving the whole deal to PM, we chose to leave this travesty in place?! Witch hunts are characterised by the fact that, while apparently a trial, accusations are made in public of such severity that the disgust of a community is aroused, which makes any form of defence impossible save mass-hypnosis. Flip, flop.

Right.. let's allow users to be abusive to mods, making ignorant complaints, arousing public hatred and anger etcetera.. that's the way to go! *cheers in support*

Rook this isn't my job, I wasn't employed I don't pick up a payment. It's a hobby, nothing more nothing less.



But enough of this, this thread had a purpose which is not argue, but offer reconciliation. If you're not going to even try, then don't post in this thread. There is one for complaints, use it.

I must give you credit for trying to reconcile at least... something Smooshable would not do.

You may see being a moderator not as a job but that is how it should be treated.

I work as a software developer. Being a mod isn't my profession. But at the point where you have authority over others you have to treat it as a job because you will be judged by users on your actions and if you treat it like fun and games people will no doubt get annoyed by the actions you take which is what has happened.

anyway, Jack has a responsibility as a mod. all of you understood those responsibilities and treated forum users politely. jack did not.

what is worse is that he was an ombudsman, and now a supermod. his responsibilities are even bigger than global mods.

If you, Auriel and Rook and FS and Teaulc can understand that, why can't he?

A person in a position of authority carries with him the respect attributed to that position. Any abuse of that position will meet strong objection.

Point: Why do people in authority like Congresspersons or Senators or even Bush himself, speak politely? Because if they don't, the public will get pi**ed.

Same thing with Jack. Jack has to understand that being a person of authority places him under a big microscope where his every move will be scrutinized, debated and criticized.

The fact that he is supermode means that Jack is under an even bigger microscope than any of the forum mods.

I don't hate Jack. I just don't agree with how he handles himself in the current position he is in.

This thread wasn't started as a reconciliation, there's wasn't even an apology for your unprofessional attitude.

You are unprofessional, and you don't take the Global Mod responsibilities seriously.

I ask you, are Global Mods (or any Mods) allowed to continously act in an unprofessional manner on these forums?

Jobs don't always = payment. You volunteered yes, but voluntary work is still a job. A job that has certain responsibilities, which you continously fail to meet.

As I said, you didn't create this thread for reconciliation, you knew damn well what reactions you would get and just wanted to start a new thread on it again where you can actually post.
