MFC, isn't the point for the COMMUNITY to decide who the best singer is? Tok`ra had the most votes plain and simple. Infact, he ASKED Bill to get an admin to check the votes for multis (something only an admin has the ability to do) but rather than do that Bill chose to delete the thread.

You expect an admin to go vote by vote, checking every ip.....also, Unlike tokra, I am not sure admins can.

Admins can.

Last I checked, the reason the ombudsman voting was done in the voting forum was because admin couldn't....If an admin wishes to verify if he can or not, that's his business. But I have to operate until what i know, not what others claim to know.

Basically the issue there was to have 99% certainty of who got to vote and who not.
It's all a matter of how certain you want to be the vote is right.
Personally, I think multis on an Idol vote can never become such a massive problem.


Bill: You were too diplomatic, mate. Yes, you made a mistake on allowing Tok`ra in in the first place.. a mistake that would have been rectified by scrapping one round (semi-finals) and have just 2 people pass from the 2nd round into what would become the finals. But that's talking in hindsight, and no help to anyone.

Alas the forums are not mature enough to hold such an event given that people will argue for the sake of stirring trouble and have destroyed any goodwill or community spirit this sort of event tried to raise. The W.Hung award was out of place though as it was counter-productive to the goals of the thread and its sad that we are not even capable as a community of doing something even as basic as this without rolling it in the mud.

To all the Tok'ra fans, give yourself another pat on the back and know you've managed to successfully keep the community down another round...

For those that are curious, Pianomutt didnt like that Tok`ra was in first place, and deleted the 162 votes that were in the poll up to that point. When users begain complaining, he then deleted the entire competition.

So Im going to re-start it.

A[b]NYONE is eligable for this. As long as they have played the game at some point, execpt for majorleehurts and that smurf guy from the previous competition, as they helped ruin it by crying over being in the W.Hung award running.

It will work as follows.

Everyone submits a song, or copies the link from their song from the last competition..

Once everyone has a song in (will be a few week proably) we start round 1.

The top 3-4 people from round one will go to round two.

The top two people from round two will go to the final round to find a winner.

For everyone that doesnt make the round one cut (or the bottom four if we have a lot of people submit) we will have the William Hung award, same as last time.

BY SUBMITING A SONG YOU AGREE THAT IF YOU DONT GET ENOUGH VOTES YOU WILL BE IN THE W HUNG AWARD THREAD AND WILL NOT CRY ABOUT IT.

Anyway, go ahead and start singing people .

The reason I ended it....is....

1. People complained about how I ran it.
2. Concerns over voting multi's, yet people argued for them to be included.
3. I was only going to allow people who can accept the prizes, advance to the final round...which eliminated tok'ra.


So, I stopped it. I don't need the crap that I was receiving..have fun running it yourself.

No majorlee disliked at the way bill was acting out , so the major asked to be removed. And he did remove her. And he then reset the vote. I agreed with my wife that bill was being rude, and in support of her, asked that i be removed. Bill refused to removed me, so i requested a mod . Bill then sent me a pm, in it said some things that i saw as off topic, and frankly, "speaking out of church" The mods lock the thread till it could get sorted, but bill, i guess, deleted it. I would guess for the same reasons he deleted the other idol thread, cause he likes o make up the rules as he goes

Kinda silly really, that you would put the endeavors of people to a contest really. I am sure that there are lots of forum users who do creative things all the time (art, music, spoken word ) who only do, not for contest, but to express them self. Maybe if u took the contest out of it, u would get a lot more people putting up stuff, other than 5.

As far as me personally, didn't care about the reward for the most l ear splitting gut wrenching (bills words) thing honestly. I had two gigs with my band this week end and waked away with 800 usa dollars total for it. Life is reward in itself.
