i find asking...nay demanding tribute from your adversary to leave a war sickening and before anyone without 2 brain cells to rub together even tries to justify or have a go at me...i dont care what you think!




now seeing how this poll could be swayed by biased voting from groups who demand a (pukes) tribute for some to leave a war i would ask that those people do not vote but please by all means give us your thoughts on something that cannot be justified no matter what slant you put on it.

It CAN be justified, and has been numerous times, but you already said you don't care, so i wont bother.

How's this, we don't care that you don't like it. Past abuses of leniency have lead to this, so it is how it is.

Seriously - there was never even this much moaning (in general) when whole accounts could be levelled (all troops/mercs and UU) - it seems the easier the game gets, the more people complain about things.

Reparations are fine. But when you track down members who weren't in the alliance when the war started...that's when you are wrong.


Also, demanding that someone NEVER return to their former alliance....ever....is also jacked up.

Now, I understand that some people want to get paid off so that they can brag about getting this or that person to pay off so that they wouldn't get massed, sabbed, ac'ed or anything else anymore but there are times when people take things too far.

This whole thing about it being on a personal basis as to who pays what and how or leaving the alliance forever is BS, imo anyway.

Yes, when I was a High Councillor in Omega there were times when Omega demanded the disbanding of the enemy alliance such as CFE and their family of alliances as well as other alliances like TA, notice that some of the offending alliances didn't disband and the war is not still happening, lol.
However, taking CFE as an example again they did disband and rejoined into a new a family of alliances later so it is never a permanent thing as much as anyone may say it is during the heat of battle.

And no, I do not agree with either teams terms, if someone wants out then let them out, if they attack again then go after them again, you can never stop someone from sending resources to someone else no matter what 'agreement' you make them 'sign' when they leave the war and good luck proving it as a fact without getting Jason to check and tell everyone.

Let me ask both sides this though, if you want payment for someone leaving the war then that is up to them, but if the war ends in a few months and both sides have said that it is over then are you going to demand to be paid or such from every member of the war that may or may not be within the alliance they started in or sit on them until you get paid off?

If you answer yes then you show your colors as a tyrant and will be stopped, TJP and FUAll have both seen, from different sides of the fence, what happens when people try to dictate how others are or aren't allowed to play as it was the reason that some of you came together to fight in the first place.

But anyway, I am considered a dishonored, evil, villian that tries to destroy the community over and over so what do I know? LOL

Simple answer, dont leave and keep fighting the war in a war game.

This should be the state of the game, constant war, not just war in your own convinience. People keep pulling up the ''its a war game'' card after they unjustily mass someone, then prove it and quit whinning, the rest of the server should be in this aswell.

because this is NOT real life, this is a community and forcing people to cough up to leave a war will force some people to harbor ill thoughts and resentment because this is a game and NOT real life, no one has tried to kill anyone here...as far as i know

to date i have seen 1 alliance and only 1 alliance play this game the way it should be played and imho, asking for resources so someone can quit a make believe war is just wrong.

The whole point of an RPG (which this is) is that it is a Role Playing Game - you adopt the persona of a 'make believe' character. The whole point of RPGs is that they do not have tight and easily defined rules of what is right and wrong - therefore the player/alliance is able to behave as good or evil as they wish - to show mercy, to fight until the death, or to demand tribute.

You said it yourself - at the end of the day it's 'make believe' - people can do as the wish within the bounds of the game - and everything that has been discussed here is within the bounds of the game. If Jason had built in a tribute system based on war stats (which has been suggested on a number of occasions) you could argue otherwise. However, he hasn't.

Then you clearly payed preciouss little attention to SGW, not to have seen it before.

And since the poll kinda failed to produce the moral outcry you were looking for perhaps you really are a bit "out of touch" with "this place" heh...

Perhaps you hould do like b00bert or Wolf suggest... Accept reality of SGW for what it is or take active steps to neutralise the percieved problem.

i have stated all along that this is MY opinion and if someone puts across an arguement i find hard to disagree with i wont simply brush that arguement aside because i am happy with MY opinion and dismiss everyone else's threw ignorance or for not wanting to look like i am wrong just for the sake of trying to look like i am right, (does that make any sense? ) like so many have done on these boards in the past.
