I believe that terrorists are genuine in a lot of cases, what i have been reffering to is the modern day terrorism taking place over the past few years which has lead to modern governments installing many new laws and also declaring war on others which would never have been possible without the terrorist acts

So... what are you trying to get at? You say that the recent terrorist attacks have led to governments installing new laws that strip our freedoms and give the governments a supposed legitimate reason to go to war, for example in Iraq so they could gain control of the oil there (I'm assuming that would be your argument).

Sooooo..... You, say that the government shouldn't be allowed to put in place such laws? I don't really understand what you want to debate

So... the Mujaheeden extremists who formed the Taliban really existed, but their splinter cell al-Qaieda (that attempted to bomb the WTC, two US embassies, the USS Cole, or fly planes into the WTC over ten years before the War on Terror) is really a concoction of the most recent governments? I suppose next that Pearl Harbor wasn't actually launched by the Japanese, and FDR just wanted to throw the Japanese-Americans into concentration camps (in the literal sense of the word, not the killing camps sense) for some laughs, or maybe to win a bet?

Governments have always restricted rights during times of war. But after a while, they relent and things go back to semi-normal status in the years that follow the end, or the initial start of the war. The Cold War lasted what, fourty years? And how many rights were taken during that time, and not returned? In four to ten years, the War on Terror will stagnate and the administrations in power will consider it a hassle declare it over along with it's laws, with a marginal victory of course. Until then, patience.

I think terrorist's are real now...but the idea of a terrorist, its origins and whatnot are a very very complex set of pathways created by western society to answer the threat of power rising in the east.
