New Forum Sections...ideas...stuff for interest.

a)well..first off...I think there needs to be a comic section besides the Tv room and all that.
The TV room needs to be updated to TV/Movie room.
The comic room would be for links to favourite stand up comedy...list's of good stand up, chances for joke post's and that sort of stuff. Add a little more humour to the forums!

b) Flamer section.
Too many times do we see threads hijacked by off the side flaming or personal arguments with no relevance to the thread. On top of that there is the GC, with a sub vendetta section, made to serve the same function but for ingame. As such, there should be a section where people can vent, and have all the family tiffs. If there is an area dedicated to it, it MAY actually remove some of the aggression to the rest of the forum.

c) Awareness of the debate section.
There can be from time to time discussions and debates left in this and that. I remind mods and forum readers, the debate section is there, and not all threads within that section have to follow the debating rules.

d) A tighter grip needs to be held over the General section of the forum. Care bare alliance? Recruiting for an ingame alliance in the general section? HELLO!!! Goodbye threads, or rl problem threads constantly posted in there and left, WTH? I know buck has a solution which I fully agree with.

by extension I might even go so far as to suggest a 'sob story lounge'. yes a sarcastic name, but as sad and as relevant as some things are to the community, their presence in the general section is unecessary, a constant reminder of the trivial things in real life, when some of us use the forums as an escape, and it can get just plain annoying with all these RIP threads scattered through the multiverse of the SGW forum library, adding an unwanted morbid feel to a place where im sure the reason for the threads would not want such an atmosphere!

C.Agree that awarness is good, seems some debates are going on in this and that and are causing some riffs

D. GL to Buck LOL, thats a never ending battle mate, we catch it from both sides, "too strict" ,,, "too loose" ,,, "to strict" ,,,," to loose" *chorus*

Well..I can point out a few sections we could get rid of/merge if you want. Remove 'this and that', make the comic and political section. Then we have a seperate section for everything else. Rename the quitting section to 'then and now - the quitting/rl life section' That way all these sob stories have a place and so do all the quitting threads. Put it in the General part of the forum, not right down at the bottom. Make a announcement in the general sgw forum that no one is that special, anything posted in there will be deleted. EOS.

Take the public dump and merge it with the newbie hello forum, call it general banter or chat or something, non game related as atm the public dump is just a glorified, re-located 'this and that'.

make Bugs a sub-section of the 'for game admin....' I dont see how those two are NOT connected.

Discussion on game enhancements, post and pre release. MERGE. No need for seperate forums for them just to save a little confusion every now and then.

get rid of Quantum and chaos recruit. Just let people put it in the main recruiting area. Im sure if you make is obligatory to put it in the title which game your from, its a not so hard thing to do and makes the forum smaller!

As for you Jack. Semantics? That's what I do buddy. TV and movie are not the same until a certain point, and even then the meaning behind TV is not that of the actual box, more to the series that belong on it. A comic section is not the same as this and that or the spam temple.
Half the world debates arise from problems with Semantics, professional (philosophical or psychological) or just our own interpretations.
So if you want to dare and throw such words at me, I can begin on the rest of the forum. lol.

Its not fine as it is now Jim, i mean..if im honest...half the people that die, or have bad things happen to them I dont know or care about and the same goes for thousands of other people, and its a bit annoyingly morbid or gloomy to have all these dark threads in the general section. If anything then, this just reinforces my point of a general banter section I suggested as all the sob stories can go in there. At least we'd have general free of morbidity then!

There is just no need for a post and pre discussion section. The ascention forum seems to handle it quite well, and considering the 'mass' of upcoming enhancements, its not like they are needed.

The flamer section has been tried and failed. It doesnt give people a place to vent, it actually made them bolder in doing so and cause a rise in flaming outside of the flamers section.

With a decent team, I could very easily resurrect the Newsletter. Problem is as it always has been, a matter of user/community interest given the continuous amount of energy required to produce a stream of issues rather than a single thing...
