Re: UP Circles
Newbie/FAQ section, maybe?
To my knowledge, it is.. but I'm no expert. Most Newbie/FAQ residents are, so you'll have better luck there.

Re: UP Circles
UP circles work if you can combine em witth a naq circle
that way you get a naq boost alon with a UP boost. however if you want alot of UP from officers i would sugest getting about 10 of em

Re: UP Circles
IMO - no, UP circles aren't worth it anymore. The UP cirlce used to generate more UP than the original UP of it's members (with the theoretical officer bonusses) together, as the circular effect actually added extra UP into the circle.
I don't think it ever worked for naq, as no extra resources is generated at all. The only effect it has on naq is to spread the income of the members more evenly between them.
As zeekomkommer said, the best for UP now is to have 10 officers, each of which can add at least 50% of your base (meaning that if have them on 30%, their total should be about 150% of your base {please correct me if I've got this wrong!})

Re: UP Circles
no, up circles dont have much purpose anymore... they no longer give more up than a regular chain gives.
to quote the game updates page:
to quote the game updates page:
Officer Contribution to Commander Unit Production - UPDATED
UPDATED: The below update is reversed. Instead, a limit is placed on the commander, in that they can only receive 50% of their own natural UP as an officer UP bonus, per officer. Additionally, the part of the officer total unit production that comes from THEIR officers, is not included. Just their own total unit production, including bonuses and planets, but not officer contribution.
Considering the previous contribution was a max of 1/2 of 30% (15%) of their UP, getting to where your current natural Unit Production is twice their 15% (so that half your natural UP is above their 15% of total) should not be out of range.
What this update does, of course, is refocuses on natural UP, and not just planets. It also forces an account to build up on their own, in order to fully benefit from strong officers. The help goes to those who first help themselves...Lastly, by removing the officer contribution, is stops 'circles' and 'bonuses on bonuses' for commanders with officers who are also commanders.
[[[REVERSED UPDATE]]]The officer contribution to commander unit production is now based solely on natural, prebonus, unit production. This is the number reflected in their daily unit production stat (not the turn unit production) - on the main base page, it is the 'Unit Production: xxx/day' stat, not the '(yyy total)' in brakets.[[[END REVERSED UPDATE]]]

"Great holy armies shall be gathered and trained to fight all who embrace evil. In the name of the gods, Browsers shall be changed to carry the internet out amongst the peoples and we will spread Firefox to all the unbelievers. The power of the Firefox will be felt far and wide and the wicked users of IE shall be converted to use the true browsers."

Re: UP Circles
I say yes UP circles are worth it as long as all involved are of relatively equel size, income, and UP. In the UP circle your income doesn't change signifigantly, as you give 30% and gain 30% of a generally identical income, But you gain a signifigant UP boost if everyone has a good UP. More then the 10% you gain from being your own CO.
