Well, I suppose you could always give people the option, but I still think everyone would be better off taking the PPT (I assume that any PPT you were on would automatically come to an end when you ascend as everything is reset).
If you took the naq or ATs in the place of the PPT (and it looks like we are talking about a very small amount of either) then you would see all your stuff in the open when you are rebuilding. And I would rather rebuild calmly on PPT than have to hurry because I chose an extra 300bn naq, or worse, see my naq and UU stolen.
My vote however would be to keep things as they are.

You get AT, naq and uu bonus upon ascending anyway. i don't see the point in replacing the PPT bonus with a choice of extra bonuses.
Most people would want the PPT bonus as it is after ascension because as NDCDN said, most people would probably want to rebuild their stats etc in the comfort of PPT. Could you imagine people ascending with trils of naq and mills of uu and suddenly have it sitting out whilst they rebuild....
Also, I personally get sick of people trying to think of ways to get free resources. This suggestion would not improve the game at all, it would just make those that want free resources happy.
