i dont know if im the only one thinking about this but it strange that the atacker get the advantage, i believe it should be the defender who get the first strike. Because right now even if you are weaker then the one you are atacking you can still win because you hit him first and destroy some of is army and damage weapons, and i could understand that if you dont have like space weapons ( best weapons or ascended best weapons) the atacker get you first but when you are ascended and have best weapons (already deploy in the space surrounding your realm) the defender should get first strike so in that way the atacker would have to be stronger to resist your first wave and then hurt you.....
anyway guys tell me what you think about that, could be a very nice add up for the next update.

Re: a sugestion for battle
i mean that in a atack the atacker hit and then the ammounts of damage he has done get substract from the defender stats and after that the defender hit with what he has left, it should go the other way

Re: a sugestion for battle
the thing is how can you atack by surprise if you are launching a full scale atack ???? even before the sgc had access to alien tech they could detect ship at the very limit of the solar system also we all know that most ship are unable to atack right after pulling off hyperspace
or maybe they should make a tech that allow player to get long range scanner to detect incoming fleets and give the defender a bonus its not normal that you loose if the guy atacking you have the same or lower stats then you ........

I think I agree with him. Sure, you can raid and do small attacks by suprise, but when a guy sends legions of troops after you, I think it would be a little forthcoming, wouldn't it?

true but if an army was attacking full scale they would expect retaliation. you know, scout out the area, post guards/scouts to alert enemy movements

What they mean is there trying to mass someone, failing and want it made easier,
If you attack a larger defence than your strike action is, say
200bill strike hits a 800bill def, you lose way more than the person your hitting.

Deep within Noob Cave, you find a strange pool filled with a glowing blue liquid. You think back to what your mother told you about unfamiliar liquids found in caves.
You're pretty sure she said "Drink it! What's the worst that can happen?"

then again if a 200bill strike hits an 80bill strike, the attacker will lose a hell of a lot more than they already are losing

Re: a sugestion for battle
im not talking about massing what im trying to explain is that its not normal that when you get atack by let say a 80 bil strike and you have like 90 bil def and the atacker win because he destroy your army and weapons first

Re: a sugestion for battle
Hes saying the strike should take a hit from the Def first, then the remaining strike power hit the defensive power.
Personally I agree, anyone who cant see my massive MS with 100K deployed fleets and 30 mill armed ground forces coming,,,,,, well they kinna need to invest in trip wires and security cameras on sticks.
Ultimately it will not change gameplay in any way as it simply means the strike needs to be 2 or 3 % larger and the same effect occurs no nothing is really gained form doing this.

Re: a sugestion for battle
that is exactly what i mean and it would give a edge for smaller player when they get farm
i agree that it would not change a lot in big war but it would still be more logical

Re: a sugestion for battle
very cool idea I like it, but its such a small change is it nessecary? Does everything in a game have to relate to RL or make sense for that matter?

i believe the words would be "should not" but it would also apply to wars because this is a game of numbers and numbers can't differentiate between wars, random massings, and farming.
besides, arent there enough "edges for smaller players"?

Well... couldn't a system be set up so this incentive is used for newer players then disappears when you start growing more rapidly? I have played some other games like this, and when you have a system like a 5 day no-hit policy, it still doesn't help very much. The guy still won't have sufficient defense to fend off a larger player and there isn't much you can do about it, especially if the guy has it out for you...

First off, at 5 days old, whos going to be after you? Your unknown and have a poor income.
I do understand what your saying, but in the same breath, if it was put in place people would abuse it and it would encourage multis.
