Re: Return of the Tok'ra

Soul wrote:The honor you believe in is one of many. Hiding in the shadows, infiltrating ones foes is one of the greatest ways to help your people, seeing as how it puts you in a better position to get them out of any trouble they may be in. To fight and die in a great battle is but a one time honor. To live among foes and help thousands live is a honor that continues on more than a brief moment of glory.

And if the Tok'ra were allied with the Goa'uld, they'd have nothing to gain by both hiding it and weakening each other, seeing as how so few believe they are among the opposition to the Goa'uld anyways.

First, you mistake a victory for an act of honor. Just because something works does not mean it is right.

Second, they have all to gain. I fear angrykid knows not of what he speaks. It is more likely the Tok'ra are just a rouge group who wish to usurp the System Lords and take their place. They are nothing but cowards who hide in the dark waiting for others to sleep.

Re: Return of the Tok'ra

Several planets have fallen to my armies are making more ships and armies. You know the best thing of biotech is that with the right enviroment(which you could easily change)you build/grow massive fleets and grow armies.Soul you're such a fool to believe that the tok'ra are honorable.THEY ARE THE EXACT OPPOSITE!!

Re: Return of the Tok'ra

And you Goa'uld are obviously the epitome of honor, right?

And victory and right are two different things. But is often considered honorable to die protecting what you believe in, and those you love. But such an honor is only lived once, while honor gained in the shadows is long lasting if quiet. Great deeds are shouted to the heavens till replaced, the deeds in the shadows are long living, for they are spoken in quiet reverence so that those who achieved them may yet live. Plus the fact that there's always someone keeping score in the shadows, and not warping it as much either.

It is true the Goa'uld lack most of what it means to be civil but you seem say the same things again and again.

Honor is something you get from defending your homeland and family while understanding that you may not come back to see those who you are fighting for. These tactics you speak of lack the honor because they are not at the frontlines defending others but hidden waiting for there time to run.

They cannot be at the front lines if they are infiltrating the enemy's compounds. Infiltration and sabotage can bring a mighty army low if done right. Spies and saboteurs make the enemy weaker so that a frontal assault could take place. In this manner, if not for espionage tactics, those at the front lines would have much more to defend from or attack. Therefore the losses would be greater and the potential for success drops exponentially.

Again....

Just because one choice gives victory does not mean it is the honorable one. Quick jabs at the enemy only show weakness.

You could also say that about those at front lines. Yes they are most of the time honorable but they can resort to very cruel tactics at times.

And suppose if your Asgard army was no match for an attacking Hat'ak. Wouldn't you want a saboteur or two to weaken the enemy so you would have a better chance of survival?

I guess if I was an Asgard my top concern would be survival but I would have failed myself.

Underestimating us would be a mistake. We are among the Elder Species, do not think our technology does not match our status.

I am not underestimating you; I am simply posing a hypothetical question.
