Mothership planet

seen as how there is a planet for everything else why not have a planet that contributes to you overall mothership power.

please post your pros and cons.

couldnt you say the same about UP or income though??? or anything realy like invest naq into weapons or men

It just sounds wrong to me. I can understand an income planet floating around in your solar system, generating income. Def and UP and Covert also makes sense. Attack makes less sense (here comes my army, with weapons, MS and a ... planet? :? ) but less so than the others.

But a MS planet just doesn't fit the bill for me. Here comes my sleek little MS, battering away at your planet's defences. It is assisted by ... a monsterous planet! That pushes the role-play idea a bit beyond my imagination.

i figure we have one for attack why not have one for ms to i meant sending a planet with your troops too attack someone makes less sence then taking a planet with you ms to attack some one i mean your ms can some how take a planet and orbit it in you solar system can it not so shouldnt it be able to drag it to attack someone?

According to the game descriptions it is not actually the planet which helps, but the native population living on the planet. That's why even attack planets sort of makes sense. It doesn't really make sense for MS planets, though.

Also, your MS never pulls a planet - it simply puts it on a trajectory which takes it to your solar system. And after expending so much power your MS can't re-orbit another planet for 24 hours. So it won't be able to use more than one planet, and it won't be able to get it back home.

then couldnt you in the same way say the inhabitants of the planet contribute to the MS say providing extra fleets or something along those line

you have techs available now to turbo your MS.

Also we already have a problem with attack planets adding a disproportionate strike without the corresponding repair and uu costs. Do you really want to make it worse for yourself by giving people more free strike when this planet blows through your MS?

Maybe your MS can tie a giant chain around a planet, and drag it with you when you attack, it just takes 4 days to get there.

Agree MS planet is not needed.
Deep within Noob Cave, you find a strange pool filled with a glowing blue liquid. You think back to what your mother told you about unfamiliar liquids found in caves.

You're pretty sure she said "Drink it! What's the worst that can happen?"

No - and Tacet provided the correct reasoning.

The other planet types can be thought of as having production facilities anchored to the planet, that contribute to the planets output.

A mothership is NOT tied to a planet and so the thought of having fleet/hangar/shield/weapon producing planets that contribute to MS power is a bit of a non-starter in my opinion.

Not sure it would add anything of benefit/improvement to the game at all.

as for UP etc... those planets fight from ur home land. u can't take ur MS out and have a planet orbit ur MS.

and if u say it can attack from ur home base... well have fun trying to a hit a ship from w/e galactic time away u are.
