Am Heh, can you please explain to me as to why you think this idea is more for quantum or chaos? I would really like to know, so as to understand where you are coming at here.
As for the turrets, their main priority is defending the ground. They will not attack enemy MS, as that job remains for the defending MS. The only exception to this is when the enemy MS starts attacking ground units, then and only then will the MS be targeted by the defense system.

Im not saying im against turrets damaging the MS, I acually think it makes sense if they did.

I would dare say the reasoning behind it, is that both games "reset" unlike main which is ongoing.
I don't think you can seperate them. its either all or nothing when it comes to the MS.

So the options i see are:
1. that turrets should help out with the attacking of the MS once possible
2. turrets attack ground and MS with random damage (depending on the strength of the turrets)
OR
3. that the turrets only attack ground units.
and how does this idea fit more better in servers that reset rather than main which keeps going?

If you make it att ground troops only, then 1 guy from an alliance will have a massive MS, keep 1 ATT SS since he wont die, and will wipe out the defense grid for free since a MS adds ATT power to ground forces, but can't be damaged by the turrents. (Yes the 1 SS example is extreme).
The reason for putting it in a resetable first is to find the problems with it, as after 1 to 6 months the real problems will emerge, in that amount of time alot of resources are wasted if it has to be removed.

You can yes, but thats more short term. A wave of Q is what? 3 months? a good test.
Chaos is what 1 yr? a true test with Active players. not 10 or 20 active players and everyone else inactive.

so just in a gap of 3 months or so will give everyone an idea on whether the defense system is any good for Main server or just a waste of naq and uu.

Admin is the only person who can breath life into this. But hes got to like it.
Id say less then 1% of forum born ideas have made it to the game mate.

Or maybe test it on the dev server, lots of people use it, dont see why we couldnt test very potential updates on development server, might allow some of us who are not entirely sold on some updates to see how they work and how much we like them.

well, it depends where Jason wants this tested, either in the reset servers or the development/beta server. Wherever the defense system is tested, hopefully some useful feedback comes out of it.
